Root help rooting zte awe

You might want to check if there is a ZTE AWE specific forum here and ask there. Since the phone is a relatively new model, the developers here may not have rooted it yet.

Awe - All Things Root - Android Forums
I'd keep an eye on this forum. If someone comes up with a way to root without a PC I'm sure it will show up here. As a matter of fact I plan to pickup an AWE (or 2) at Target on Black Friday $19.99ea! Gonna see if the "POOT" root method will work on the AWE.

The poot method didn't work for me but the impactor route worked first time, although my awe updated and I lost root. Just ran impactor again and currently have root access. Now if I could only get wifi tether to work! I've tried a few apps to no avail

In the settings of your phone make sure that usb debugging is on. Connect your phone and install drivers if you haven't already. Then on your phone select connect to pc software. On impactor press start. Wait for it to finish, disconnect your phone then try to install SuperSU again.

Ok I finally rooted my ZTE AWE. I tried Motochopper and Cydia Impactor . I got it rooted with impactor but I think the only reason Motochopper didn't work was because i didn't unplug and reconnect my phone in software mode after installing the drivers. Impactor was very easy to use. Can't wait for Clockwork Mod and some new ROM's. Please post if anyone finds any for this phone.
