So I am kind of stuck at the moment, between these two great devices and really want to know what others think about this comparison.

Keep in mind that I am not really a power user, more or less someone just looking for good battery life and functionality.

I am also quite addicted to rooting and roming which leads me to think I should go G2 instead of Note 3 considering the new Knox and everything Samsung has put out :(

Tell me what you guys think!

Considering Knox and the locked AT&T bootloader, I'd go with some other Samsung phone, not the Note 3. (No removeable battery? No SD card? Not in my phone.) I have one pretty bad cataract and pretty fat fingers (and I'm a software junkie), so the Note 3 was my only option. I will say one thing about it. IT'S BIG. And I like that. It can also read my handwriting (I can't). Speech recognition is almost perfect.

Aside from the bootloader and the price, I like it. YMMV.

The G2 is a smartphone, the Note 3 is a phablet. So it depends on what your looking for. The G2 has amazing battery life and is buttery smooth even stock, so you can imagine how fast and smooth it will be with custom roms. Again much more rom support for the G2 than Note 3.

I bought the Note 3, but found it to be a tad too big for my liking. So I returned it for the LG G2. Both are amazing phones, but the G2 is definitely more manageable with one hand use and yet the G2 has a large 5.2 inch display.

My sister got her G2 on Wednesday and it's a pretty cool phone. The buttons on the back (to me at least) is a nice change of pace and is easy to get adjusted to.

Battery life so far, according to her, is phenomenal. On her S2, she could get an hour or two of screen time but now she can get around 7 to 8. It could probably be more if she turned off GPS/Location Services/Etc but it's good enough for her.

Also when I first used it... the bezels. My goodness. The lack of something has never been so beautiful.

Having said that, I still purchased the Note 3 today because I'm more adjusted to Samsung phones and the size of the Note 2 was perfect for my giant hands. Also the S-Pen seems very useful during classes when I'm too lazy to get out paper :D

I've really no experience with the Note 3 or any other TW'd Samsung (root and install AOSP stat every time). But, I really like my G2. Battery life, as others have said is incredible, but the N3 is no slouch for sure. I think camera quality has a slight edge in the N3, but I'm perfectly content with the photos on my G2 (especially compared to previous phones).
The stock software is okay, but really busy. Root is easily achieved and development is going strong (can't say the same for the N3). If you're happy with stock, it's nice to just get rid of the bloat with root.
Storage wise, LG has managed to make one of THE most bloated experiences possible. Out of the 32Gb you have, well over 1Gb is just the launcher! Don't care about a removeable battery as this thing is a beast in that department, but extra storage would be nice (liked it in my S3).
Size wise, I don't think they're that much different, but the N3 was just a bit too big for me and the G2 feels great in the hand (especially with a matte case to cover up that nasty glossy back).
Hey, you always have the slim return window, so go with your gut but keep in mind you can swap it out. :)

I have to amend my previous post. I sold my G2 once I realized how sub par the video camera was. The jumpy "breathing auto focus" and the poor audio quality, forced me back to the Note 3. That's not a bad thing, since I really like the Note 3.

I still think the G2 is a great phone, but the camera on the Note 3 is better, so take that into consideration if the camera/video is important to you.
