Root [AT&T] Unrooting SG3 failed.

You mean in recovery, wiping system, boot, everything?
Please don't do that lol :D
In the g+ community I shared this in we have a catchphrase "odin back to stock" and it usually cures everything man.
I think getting odin to work is your best option. Try different odin versions etc.
What recovery do you have and what happened when you tried to flash stock from there?
You should maybe at least put a post in att all things root with a brief summary of the problem (lost baseband, IMEI.. Odin fails) and a link to this thread.
The phone is definitely fixable

Haha just did that on the all root forum. I figured just nuking it wouldn't be a good idea(of course it wouldn't HOW WOULD IT?!-slaps myself-) I've tried using different versions Odin from 1.85 to 3.09(1.85, 3.04, 3.07, 3.09 if there is a version I missed I'll be sure to try and hunt it down.) I have the stock recovery installed so anything needing CWM is out of the question sadly since I can't even re-root this poor sexy phone. Funny how you look at things when there is near the point of no return, or in my case limbo.:(

you and me both rusty are confused and wanna know whats going on.
i can tell ya yeah sure you can try and post in all root section but you likely came to right section because ever since i jumped over to the s3 forums xmas time the att forum is dead.

now i got my daughter a att s3 i rooted it an all.so with a new toy i tried every rom flashed a gizzilion times soft bricked and the link i sent using the odin method bailed me out hell even recently a new rom had came out with multi window feature and once again i forget how atm i soft bricked no os used that same link..so yeah i definitly wanna know whats up.

if you wouldnt mind post a step by step process of how your trying to recover your phone maybe something isnt being done right nothing against you i just no sometimes when doing pc/android stuff and im stuck or something when i figure what i was doing wrong its a feel stupid reason lol

anyways try starting from scratch with your pc uninstall drivers and kies reboot your pc then install drivers(kies optional i never have installed or used kies personally) again once installed reboot, then try to odin your phone..good luck and please keep us informed

Ahh lucky lad, you got out alot better than I have it here XD. I'll give out how I do it from Odin like so:

Step 1. Starting up Odin 3.09 in administrator mode.

Step 2. Clicking AP and selecting the TAR file of choice.

Step 3. Letting the TAR load as I put the phone in download mode. Phone is not yet connected at this point.

Step 4. TAR has loaded. Connecting phone. Odin confirms it has a proper connection to the phone and is ready to flash new firmware.

Step 5. Beginning flashing process. Process ended in failure with the following:

<ID:0/005> Added!!
<ID:0/005> Odin v.3 engine (ID:5)..
<ID:0/005> File analysis..
<ID:0/005> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/005> Initialzation..
<ID:0/005> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/005> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/005> SingleDownload.
<ID:0/005> aboot.mbn
<ID:0/005> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/005> FAIL! (Auth)
<ID:0/005>
<ID:0/005> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)

Not too sure if this means anything for the Odin problems but I'm seeing in download mode that QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE. I'm quiet tech savvy, but that I don't know if it could mean an issue for Odin, just wondering. I'll look and see if unistalling KIES and the drivers will do any good bud.

do you have android debug enabled in settings?

check this out [STICKY INDEX] AT&T GS III - I747 {/Root/ROMsTools} - xda-developers
has modem images recovery basically everything you could need...
im wondering if you can try another modem and see if that fixes the no service issue also wondering seeing how you are maybe rooted if you can flash cwm or twrp and flash a different rom?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1725839

I'll try the Goo Manager and will look to see if root is somehow still onboard. Aslo how would I flash Img. files seeing as how Odin won't take them?

This is how I learned when it bricked laughing saying what's happened explained on the forums and they said your bricked .:D:mad: what's bricked .when I learned I didn't stop went to the library got some knowledge about android and went in on it and bricked it again . to make a long story short funky logic is speaking the truth . you live and learn and think if you fix it you don't need the carrier or maker to help and its free to learn . no shipping fees nor getting the run around

Ok yes yes. There is the easy way and there is the hard way. I found that secret cave that only those who have completed the game found and I haven't even started. If this is was an iPod I could have most likely done it myself since I've bricked the thing a few times just for the fun of it(I'm an evil bastard I know). This. This is just a big ole kick in the nuts. I'm going to try something I didn't think of and that is trying to use KIES. I highly doubt it'll work, buuut sometimes the easiest solution can be the most overlooked.

Oh and to answer, yes she is in debug mode and no not rooted at all. So here are the major road blocks:

Un-able to re-root to restart(Firmware not recognized by the CM installer)

Odin problems with 4.0.4. or UCALEM

Device can't fix itself via Master Wipe

Device cannot flash via recovery(stock).

KIES doesn't see the device as it's own kin

Main Issue:

No modem therefore no baseband and no IMEI.

Secondary Issue:

No sound.

Oh right I don't think I posted this but the build number is IMM76D.I747UCALEM

Well TWRP didn't take it but I'm wondering should I do the following THEN flash in the stock rom?

Step 1. wipe the Dal cache, normal cache, and factory reset.

Step 2. Do a system wipe?(Removes the current rom/OS)

Step 3: Install rom via TWRP or attempt via Odin.

Taking this from this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhR4Je4I8yw

Rather have confirmation before I really am SOL.

Ok I just flashed in stock Jelly Bean. It got stuck at the AT&T logo the first 2 times but now it's up and running. Got all my contacts and such annnnnd just to check. . . . . .yes yes yes yes Y.E.S.! IMEI is there 4g is up and running baby! She is running a bit funky I will say and I am seeing a green keyboard behind the screen sometimes which does worry me a tad, but as of now she is running. If you guys can tell me the issue about the burned in keyboard image(letters are green and appears at the AT&T logo start up and sometimes at the home screen) please do so!

But thank you guys SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO damn much I CAN'T even stress how grateful I am right now thank you!

Congrats now ur a pro lol
1st thing first using twrp BACKUP and always backup always when switching roms or making adjustments also grab titanium backup this is a root must backup apps

second im not sure what to say about the image problem but using twrp try wipig cache dalvic cache...if not factory reset it

Curiosity you flash jellybean through odin or twrp? what did you do to resolve?

idk how well android versed you are but you should also grab besides titanium a root file explorer and if you tweek around with stuff and customize
check out xposed modules its like cydia for that company that would sue me on copyright for mentioning there name...

btw a little contacts tip once you get all set up you can back them up to sd will be a vcf file got to phone app settings import/export option...

Hello:)
Yes I moved this into the root forum for AT&T, but I left a 7 day redirect in the general forums so all involved can find this.
Whilst dmcjr22 may be correct that this root forum is a little slow, this may be the thread to "give it a little kick" so-to-speak.:)
Besides, your average, non-root user would know very little of what we speak of and that ok.
Others may find this thread when searching, and find out other issues/resolutions in the root forum here;)

OHHHH SWEET BABY GOD YES!!!!!!!!!!!! I found a way to root my device with no failures on Odin's part. Now just the task of get TWRP or CWM on this baby and I should be hooome free!!!! FREE!! HEAR ME?! FREE!!!!!!!!!

How exactly did you do this? I had a similar experience this weekend, trying to get back to stock from cyanogen installer, and am now stuck with 4.0.4 and no cellular, no sound, no camera.

Couldn't ever get odin to do a flash, I now know this was probably KNOX related, bought mobile odin and did a reflash of file without the computer, and am now stuck unable to root phone and try other things.

So glad you got yours fixed.

I couldn't go without a phone this whole week at work without being fired, so I ordered a Nexus 5 arriving tomorrow. If I can ever get this thing back to stock, I'll sell it.

Ah I'm so sorry for taking so long to reply, I've been busy with many things and have been meaning to revisit the site.(Had time to just leave a thanks) If I do remember correctly I did this via TWRP once I was able to root the phone using a certain file, I'll have to dig it up. I couldn't use odin still, but since I had rooted the device I had no need for it and just needed TWRP. I rooted through Odin(Which when I saw work was fricking shocking to me because I was used to just seeing 'FAILED!' over and over again XD) using this file in the link then I was able to flash JB on there through TWRP. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
