I have recently activated an LG Optimus F3 on Virgin Mobile's $30 a month plan. I am running Android 4.1.2. I understand that my service is throttled after 2.5gb of data; however, before I reach that limit and even if I use my home wifi I cannot get videos either on YouTube or Vimeo to load.

For YouTube, whether I use the YouTube app, the built-in browser, or chrome, I can navigate the videos and everything seems to be loading quickly, yet once I select a video the loading spin just rotates indefinitely not even loading the ads or beginning the countdown for the ads.

This is similar to Vimeo. Navigation seems to be fine, and once I select a video I want to watch the video pane just goes black.

I don't have a solution, but I have seen people posting this last week in Virgin Mobile's Facebook page that they are having the same kind of trouble. It sounds like it must be some kind of problem on their end.

If you can, contact them through Facebook or Twitter. It will at least help make them aware of the extent of the issue so they can (hopefully) fix it quickly.

I have the same issue. Started about 3-4 weeks ago for me though. When on data, after clicking the video I want to watch it will load the ad, then the video won't load. The loading "circle" will stay spinning and then I will have to force close the youtube app. After force closing the app, my 3g/4g transmit arrows at menu bar stay lit up and slowly drain the battery faster unless I fully shut down phone, then wait a minute then turn it back on. Shutdown and restart it would still stay lit up.

I have tried uninstalling app and re-downloading updates, clearing cache and data before and after. Seems to work OK on wifi, but I use my tablet for youtube now.
