Root [GUIDE] LG L70 Link2SD

This is a real quick and dirty guide to Link2SD.

First, you must root your L70. For instructions on that, see here:
Root Guide

Then, you must install SDFix from the Market:
SDFix

Shut your phone off, remove the back case and pull out the SD card. Place it in a MicroSD>SD adaptor and put it in a computer. Partition it however you would like with two partitions. Be sure to backup any data on your SD card that might have been there, because this will erase everything on it.

For example, I did the following with my 32Gb SanDisk SDHC:
Partition 1: FAT32
Size: 22Gb
Partition 2: Ext4
Size: 8Gb
Partition Map: MBR

You must have at least one Ext2/3/4 partition for Link2SD to work.

Then place your SD card back in your phone and power the phone on. You should notice that the SD card mounts and will only see the FAT32 partition. This is normal.

Install Link2SD from the Market:
Link2SD

On first run, Link2SD will ask you which filesystem you have for your Ext partition. If you partitioned with Ext2, select that. Select Ext3 if you chose to partition with that filesystem. Ditto for Ext4. It will create a mount script and give you a dialogue confirming that the mount script was created and placed in the proper place. If you see an error, you either selected the incorrect filesystem or you partitioned improperly.

Once you get past that, you'll see a list of all apps on the phone. Some of these apps cannot be linked to the SD card. A real quick way to see if they can be moved is if you see -Odex- next to the name. This usually means that it is a system app and cannot be linked. It will look like this:

Most apps with that "Odex" next to it cannot be linked.

Once you get an app that can be linked, you will tap the app in the list. You'll see this screen:

Click on "Create Link":

You will see this screen (I've already linked all that I can, so disregard the "already linked" warning in my screenshot!), make sure you check all boxes that it allows you to place a checkmark in:

It will move the app to the SD card and link it to /system/apps. A confirmation dialogue will appear.

When it is done properly, you'll see this in the app list:

And finally, after going through and linking all the apps you can to the SD card, you'll see this glorious screen in Settings-->Apps:

I have several large (1Gb+) games installed on my phone and do not have any issues installing more. Keep in mind that Link2SD does NOT move internal data by default. You will need to purchase Link2SD for that capability. Also keep in mind that anytime you install a new app, you will have to go back into Link2SD and link the new app to the SD card!

I hope this helps anyone that is running out of space on their L70.

I've never used Link2SD before until I got this phone. I was always an Apps2SD guy because it moved every app to the SD card. However, I've been told that Apps2SD just doesn't work like it used to.

So far, Link2SD has been great. I've been using it since I rooted this phone. Quite a few apps have updated, and Link2SD automatically re-links the updated apps back to the SD card. I've had no issues with surprise unlinking or corruption.

So...purchased link2sd+ (for data file move). Works like a charm. Of course the app worked like a charm back in the day...until it started garbaging out, so we'll see, but at the moment, 1.1gig free internal, and the phone is snappy.

One thing to be aware of though, and this isn't a knock on the application. When you do use link2sd, be aware that your boot times will be a bit longer.

A computer MicroSD Card reader that can mount the sd card as a full drive should be able to have it's partitions fat32 and ext2/3/4 partitions resized with a Gparted boot cd. Nevertheless, I keep a backup of the SD cards files when partitioning. Also resizing the fat32 partition took too long with aomei partition assistant standard. Also I've noticed that chrome runs slower from the SD card, so this SD card must be a slower class card, and that is the real issue with it.

Can Link2sd+ move apps that the link2sd free version can't move?

Edit: Ok, nevermind, I see the answers in this thread.

There is something wrong. Either your SD card was not partitioned correctly, or it was bad, or you did not select the correct file system when you create the script.

As far as I'm aware the card is partitioned correctly. I also selected the right file system.

This problem just appeared as well. At first it let me move apps but now it just gives me this error (with Skype app)

-directory '/data/sdext2/app-lib/com.skype.raider -1' : I/O error

Should I just reformat and repartition it?

Can you access /data/sdext2/ and create file/folder from other apps like ES File Explorer or Terminal? If not, I think you may try to recreate the mount scripts in Link2SD first. If the problem stays, repartition the SD card.

I'm getting mad about this issue... I followed all passages, as described, and everything did well. When I link apps, it takes just a moment to confirm it.
After having linked everything but Odex apps, I have only a very poor 480 Mb space free! Even bought Link2Sd to link data, but nothing chenged (and refunded it...).
It seems that Link2sd is joking me. Is it possible that symlink are not really created, although confirmation is given? How can i verify this?
Thanks for help, folks!

FolderMount Pro should clean up any leftover files your apps might have (obb, data). Also, look around the root forum, there's lots of Link2SD related stuff that's really helpful. Have a good one!

Thank you. By DiskUsage I see that most of my emulated SD is occupied by app data. I think Foldermount could be useful...
(...any further suggestion is very, VERY appreciated!)
