What internal? Does Samsung file manager got ftp? It not, then now I have two file explorer. Hence I need to root.

I'm wondering if the Note 4 will have a 2nd detachable 'thing' other than the s-pen. What that thing could be, I don't know. Something special and innovative hopefully.
Worst rumor I read was where the plastic Note 4 would be normal and the metal one would have the flexing screen... because that makes sense... was on a leading android news site too.
I think maybe indeed it is time for Samsung to deliver dual speakers. I don't care much for it myself and I will always love the single speaker on the bottom of my Note 3 (instead of being on the back like everything else from recent years) but the next step needs to happen now for Samsung's sake. I feel no manufacturer has really got stereo speakers 'right' yet.
Furthermore on this path, this could be the time that Samsung experiments with onscreen buttons (being a device that focuses on it's huge screen and note taking), which would make room for said speakers at one end. We might even get 2 of the lost buttons reappearing as slim buttons like the note 3's power button, on the left and right of the bezel at the bottom. Or 'pressable corners' even.
I hate the idea of onscreen buttons but I'd rather see the above happen than the S5's window switcher capacitive stealing the menu button's spot again.

I am hopping it will have dual front speakers, but I dont think it will happen this time.
I too prefer real button. I feel I lost/cheated some real estate with those buttons on the screen.
But having button on the screen make the screen looks wider instead of narrow. Sort of like a x1200 effect instead of x1080. I notice.

I think not... that story is about discounted Snapdragon 805 chipsets from Qualcomm, which will allow a better screen while keeping the phone affordable at the retail level. If they can swing volume discounts from their suppliers, all the better. Better for us (lower priced phones) and better for Samsung (profit margin increases). If the figures in that article are accurate, then the real winners are the carriers who are marking up the devices obscenely over the cost of producing them. Which utterly fails to surprise me.

Samsung needs to make the S Pen more useful, and better court developers, before adding more "detachable thingies" to the Note; but, I guess that goes along with that Software thing I was talking about earlier.
Right now, much of the S Pen's usefulness is tied to Samsung's own apps and since those apps are not readily cross-platform and do not work well across form-factors... They are of very little use for me. They were nice to try, but I literally forgot about them within a week of getting the phone because alternative apps like OneNote are simply better, and more accessible from other devices.
Right now it's not much different than a bigger, better spec'd Galaxy S phone to me, because so many apps don't support the active stylus and the Pen Button Press is wasted on Air Command when it could be used for something much more useful (like a right click with a Radial Menu for actions on the item under the pointer).
Given obvious shortcomings in the Note's software, I'm interested in what another OEM might bring to the table. Microsoft may even do something interesting in Windows Phone, since they have the tech for it (from Surface Pro). If they implement a better stylus device, it can be a huge win for them.

This is why I avoid phones with Dropbox promotions. One more bloatware app for a service I don't use, and corners are cut to find room for it.

But the Verizon Note 3 has FTP in the file manager. That's one good thing they did. A time limited storage promotion isn't worth the loss of functionality on the device.
This is the way the setup screen looks:
You can always try Uninstaller or disabling the Dropbox app and seeing if it reverts to FTP...
Dropbox being there is of little benefit, because IIRC their Android App uses the storage APIs to expose the file structure in the Android File Picker.

I have the one with dropbox and when you press the menu softkey there is an option to add an FTP, although I'm not sure if that will take over the dropbox that I'm not using or give me a 9th large shortcut that I can't delete, so I didn't try it out.

The new image leaks appear legit and show a thinner device with thin side bezels. I am still hoping there is a chance it can be easily rooted, or will wait for root, or L to release since should have card writes enabled again.

I actually checked, afterwards, to see if there was additional settings to add it and there is! Glad you mentioned because I wouldn't have seen it otherwise. Until recently, I never really used the OEM file explorer.

Saw the phandroid article about it. There really isn't much on it that makes me feel compelled to upgrade, rather than wait for the prospect of folding note series in 2015.
Only spec that will have me on the edge of upgrading again this year is if they offer the 64gb internal work the micro sd. Overall form factor seems close in size to the Note 3, especially since they have kept the home button and Samsung emblem

Still does not appear to be much pre-launch buzz for the Note 4 compared to previous major releases. In fact, buzz kind of peaked with the S4 and started dropping with the S5. Note 3 had a lot more buzz than the Note 4, but relatively seems the Note 4 is very low.
The Alpha looks dead on arrival in that regard. Also consider a main consumer appeal of Samsung devices is the micro sd that the Alpha does not have. Looks like an Apple wannabe device with lower res display.
This does not seem to bode well for Samsung. If LG releases a 805 version of the G3 in the US and more efficient display tech, they could really hurt Samsung. Factor in the new iPhones and LG could be the 2014 champ as far as Android.

gotta say I'm disappointed. Being a note, note 2 and note 3 buyer, the 2 and 3 on day of release, I'm not very excited by this. I suspect its the death of the note series for samsung if this is all they can muster.
Over my 3, it will have a better screen (eating more battery) and a better camera (hopefully eating less battery than now!). It'll no doubt be a tad quicker - thats hardly relevant though as the n3 is super fast. Not sure I see why I should upgrade this time round...

It uses a snap 805. That screen will be cake for that CPU. If you kept up with news. You'd see the S5 battery life is better with QHD and S805 than the 1080p S801 version.
Upgrades have been like this the past few years, at least for Android phones. Once OEMs started supporting their phones for almost or over 2 years like Samsung does, the incentive to upgrade dropped a lot because the spec bumps don't do much for most people.

Bloat will be less. Samsung is actually cutting their services back so it will almost assuredly have less preload than the Note 3 if the S5's software is any indication; and they never really had that much bloat on the Note 3 (many were simply links to installers on Samsung servers).
However, expect about 20 apps for Verizon on it (including the entire Amazon ecosystem) if you're on that carrier.
I think OEMs get a lot of flack they don't deserve for bloatware, cause a lot of that stuff comes from the carriers. LG has as much as Samsung since they basically copy everything Samsung does, and then some.
Personally I'm looking to downsize since I don't use the S seen so much anymore. I need better video apps too. Development for these on android seems very slow. I hope some good ones pop up soon. October will be here before we know it

Perhaps this will pressure Samsung to lower down their prices. Everything about them is expensive. So this is a good thing. Fall from grace is good!
The only upgrade I see from N3 to N4 is the higher resolution. Perhaps at a high resolution you dont see the jagged edge on text font. Then again on a small screen you cant tell the difference.

Bent screen isn't quite the foldable screen. I don't even feel like the curved edges will be quite enough for me to consider upgrading. I'd have to see it in action, in order to really know what benefit that would be.
