LG G2 Service Menu - LG Cell Phones Blog
This doesn't work for the LG G2 on Verizon.

I have found another post where using the dialer and:
##PROGRAM980 send
then 000000 for the service code
did get me into a special menu, but not the one I was looking for.

Evidently, people on other carriers having issues with the KnockOn, have been able to update firmware using the information in the URL above. It doesn't work on the LG G2. I wonder if that feature is completely disabled.

You need to install the apk then also make sure to create the file named "hiddenmenu" and paste the code into it and set permissions on it so that you can use a terminal emulator and just type "su; hiddenmenu" to open the HiddenMenu.apk up.

Works like a charm (gotta reboot though after copying hiddenmenu.apk into /system/bin and setting permissions). You can update your touchscreen firmware (solves a bunch of issues) as well as disabling thermal throttling (also can be done with a custom kernel I guess) as well as a lot more but be careful with what you play with.

Verizon version does not have apk for the secret menu you are looking for. There is a thread on XDA about this i remember reading way back when.

edit: [VZW] HiddenMenu | LG G2 | XDA Forum you can use the apf form other carriers and adb to launch it .

This one does work. I used it a couple of weeks ago to fix my knock on after I went back to Malladus from Cloudy.

Hi, I'm trying to get this to work on my G2 (software version VS98026a) but I haven't had any luck. I get an error thru ADB (am is not a valid command or something like that) and if I try thru the Terminal Emulator it gives a bunch commands basically stating it's not possible. Please help!!!

Did you first enter su for root? I did a tutorial on this to try and help people past a few potential pitfalls.

I followed you guide but I didn't do the "su for root". Do I need to enter that command on the Emulator or ADB? I'm sorry for the question but I'm new doing this. Thanks!

No problem.

If using terminal emulator, first enter "su" (without the quotes). Your prompt should switch from $ to # (noting that # means root access). Then proceed to enter the command in the tutorial.

If using adb, enter "adb shell" (again without the quotes), then if you still see a $, then enter "su". You should be root (#) at that time and you can proceed to enter the command in the tutorial.

I promise this is the last question, the process works like a charm and I was able to access the hidden menu. I tried a couple of options but I can't find what I'm looking for. I'd like to know if it's possible to access the Network Menu in order to switch the LTE on (the WCDMA/GSM/LTE option thru the Phone Info option on some variants). I'm on version VS98026A and I can't get the LTE to work; the most I get is H+ with a LTE SIM and in a LTE area. Again, sorry for the long story but I'm just desperate to get my LTE working. Thanks so much again!

Have you already attempted this via the phone's settings? (during normal boot)

Tethering & Networks > Mobile Networks > System Select > Network mode

Global is typically default I believe and that should allow LTE when available. There is a standalone lte/cdma option as well but I haven't used that as I've always done well with all connections types using the global option.

Were you formerly running a custom rom optimized for gsm by chance? If so, I've seen instances where gsm mode is enabled and needs to be manually changed even after being back on a stock configuration.

I purchased the phone used so I'm not sure if it had a custom ROM. It was not even rooted when I got it, I rooted it myself. I've been using the global option at no avail. That manual option is what I'm looking for; that's what I'd like to try but Verizon, as you know, does not have that option available on the G2, reason why I tried your method explained here. Any additional help regarding this will be much more than appreciated! Thanks so much!

I've got the APN for the carrier I'm using; it's outside the states so you might not be familiar with it. I have the Internet APN as well as the MMS one. I received them thru automatic configuration/settings SMSs.

Aha, ok now we're getting to the root of things. :)

Yes so I will be out of my realm of experience with trying to obtain LTE on a VS980 while using a different carrier. I was not even aware that was possible tbh.

I've got the exact same options but LTE/CDMA does not work for some reason; the signal icon just goes blank. I'm not sure if you've seen the Nexus 4 LTE flasher app; when you hit the Phone Info option it takes you to a four-option menu. The first option is Phone Info and under that, then there's a Network Mode option that allows you to manually select the WCDMA/GSM/LTE option. I'm trying to attach a snapshot

I got a VS980 for my girl but hers is on VS98024A and it works on 4g LTE at speeds of over 50 mbps. We've got the same carrier and everything but mine is not working on 4g LTE. Gotta keep digging. Thanks so much for all your time and help! God bless!

Ah now that you mention it, I'm on 24A. If you think that is the key to success with your girl's phone, the good news is we can flash backward as it pertains to OS version. ;)

Please, I beg you! How can I do that? I have searched Google and several forums but it looks like the process is really complicated, like flashing a ROM. Any insight is helpful. Thank you!

No problem I'm leaving work but if you're going to be around for a bit I'll shoot you a PM when I get home (maybe half hour or a little more) and I can get you what you need.
