I factory reset my phone ugh

Can someone please help, ok this is what I did I factory reset my phone and all my sons soccer videos are gone and I didn't know how to save them to the sd card.can I get them back ?????

When you do a factory reset the whole phone gets cleared out. If everything was on the removable sdcard then that should be there. If it was on the internal sdcard (emmulated) then I think it gets dumped with the rest of the phone

Did you double-check if those vids might be on your SD card? Use the Android 'My Files' app (in your Apps folder) or whatever 3rd party file manager you prefer to look inside:
/storage/extSdCard/DCIM/Camera
All my jpg and mp4 files get dumped into there by default and then I just move them around to where I want later.

I hope your stuff is there but in any case now that your phone has been reset and all ready to accumulate more of your son's pics and vids again, don't put off installing and setting up some kind of online backup. There's always the chance your phone and/or SD card might die, or get stolen, but you'll still have an online sync/backup to rely on.

well when you have an sd card in the phone the videos taken should have been moved to the sd card automatically. it should be in a folder called dcim on the sd card.

I had to change the settings in the stock camera app on my s3(att) to save pics to sdcard. The default save went to dcim in the internal storage.

hhvr6 heres some tips on saving backing up your stuff.

1 go into camera settings and there you can change the location where your pics and vids are saved, here you can change to sd card. Also get in practice of backing up media to home pc. Like previously suggested get a dropbox or google drive account, these use cloud storage.

2 As far as contacts go you can either sync them to your google account( i forget but maybe you can sync your pics and vids too). Another is by going it the stock phone app go to settings in it and you can export your contacts. This will create a vcf file, which will be put either in the internal sd or your personal sd card.

3. As far as your apps go look at Helium app here and here
