Root [MetroPCS] [ROM][F6] Xperion ROM **Updated 2/11/2015**

Can somebody please upload the ROM to another website? I keep getting network errors from Google :(

No I do not want the rom hosted anywhere else. I checked the link and it's working fine.

Try another browser or if you're on your phone then try on your PC. If not it could be your internet so try at a friends house.

Also try disabling your ad blocker if you have one.

I put some apk files in it, flashed and wiped the cache and dalvik. When I open the app, it says "Unfortunately, Facebook has stopped". I put the apk in both system\app and data\app, but not worked. What can I do ?

Install facebook like a normal app from the play store instead of putting it in those folders.

ROM Updated

Changes:
  • Added AOSP lockscreen and disabled stock lockscreen
  • Added Android L keyboard (Go to keyboard settings/Advanced/Color scheme/Material)
  • Added Cyanogen weather widget (Chronus - use the flex widget)
  • Changed blue accents in Camera & the icon to google camera icon
  • Added google icon in settings menu for accounts & sync like aosp
Follow the same install instructions that are already listed.

NOTE:
AOSP lockscreen is way better than stock so I disabled stock lockscreen completely and it will never work again in this rom. If you do not like AOSP lockscreen, do not update.

Apollo and Netflix lockscreen controls are pretty awesome, netflix especially when using chromecast.

How to restore apps, settings, call logs, and messages from older Xperion version to the new update...
  1. Backup call logs, messages, and settings with LG Backup.
  2. Backup user apps with Titanium Backup.
  3. Install ROM update then restore the above. Done!
  4. If you use apps to SD then you can set it up now.

Bumping the above 2 posts for those that missed them. ;)

Hey GT, I just wanted to thank you for the ROM and kernel, init.d, and all your instructions. I learned everything I know about rooting, flashing ROMs,and scripts from you. Thanks

No problem buddy, you're welcome. :)

 Do you have to set up app2sd link again after the update an backups restored? If I'm over thinking this :stupido2: just let me know!

Yes... Setup app2sd after you install and setup the rom. Look at the above quotes for easy restoring.

Is the knock to unlock feature included? I can't seem to find it.

Yes... Knock to unlock is included. Go to settings and look under display settings. It's listed as "KnockON"

@GameTheory,

I see that you added the kernel to your flashed rom. I just have one question.
When upgraded with your new updated ROM and the kernel upgrades as well.
when I goto setcpu, the OC is gone. its only listing 1.8gz instead of the 1.4gz?,
I thought it might of been something else, so to test it I flashed your stand alone
Kernel from 08/18/2014 again.. and my OC setting where back again. Can you look into this or tell me something that I may be doing wrong or could try. what ever Kernel or ROM is was, when I flashed the new updated ROM, my phone was extremely fast. but I want to OC. any planes on stand alone Kernel update?

I had this problem with one of your KERNEL updates before.. this 08/18/2014 update was the only version that I was able to get the OC to work 100%.. Any thing I could try? anyhow. thanks for all your hard word you put into ROM & Kernel... as well as all your projects..

I did not add an overclock kernel to this rom. I do not include overclock kernels in any roms I make. My Freedom kernel is to be flashed seperately if the user chooses (some people don't overclock).

The details of the kernel included in this rom are in the first post.

My bad, I missunderstood. I thought you used the same kernel that you have as a stand alone OC Kernel (Freedom Kernel)..

As its my understanding that even if the Kernel is OC, the OC cant be used unless someone uses an app like setcpu or something like it..
My CPU Settings are stock at boot with 1.1 always.. till I use setCPU and then it lets me set up too 1.4. Thats one thing that I have noticed. is that apon boot the cpu is always stock at 1.1 or 1.2 till user defines higher if kernel supports it.

Anyhow, I dont know what you did to the kernel you used on your Updated ROM. but thats the fastest I have ever seen my phone boot up.
I hope you make a OC freedom Kernel version of whatever you did.

If you didnt mod the kernel any difrrent then I dont know why my phone seems much faster. I did add a 64gb class 10 sdcard. but that wont make it any faster on the internal memory.

Thanks anyhow.

Yeah, it's suppose to boot to (1188000 which is 1.2ghz) till the user defines their overclock.

I compile all my f6 kernels from my same code. So the speed difference you feel is due to something else... Perhaps the fresh rom install or a number of other reasons.

Again I appreciate all the work you have put into this ROM. I decided to keep the version from 7/16/2014 because I just like the way things are (I made a bunch of changes using ninjamorph) and it runs great but I hate the lockscreen. How could I implement the AOSP lockscreen without really updating the ROM. I also don't want to update because I love NOVA and really want it on the settings menu.
Thanks !!!

I did some tweaks to the AOSP lockscreen specifically for this rom so the only way is to update. Due to other improvements under the hood, the new update runs better than the 7/16/2014 version. Better to just update, but if you decide to stay on the old version I understand. ;)

hi mister gametheory i just download your newest update from experion rom but now my volume and home buttons don't work

There's no reason for that to happen. Try one of the following 3 options...
  1. Download rom again then wipe and reflash the rom
  2. or restore a backup
  3. or restore your phone with KDZ

I just finished updating the ROM and updating everything from apps to xposed modules...I made a backup using the LG tool but it doesn't work (force closes). For some reason I can't change the wallpaper on the lock screen...its a nice and smoother than before...what is the best way to backup everything so I don't have to spend so much time setting it up?

This is how I do it...

Backup and restore apps, settings, call logs, and messages from older Xperion version to the new update.
  • Backup call logs, messages, and settings with LG Backup.
  • Backup user apps with Titanium Backup.
  • Install ROM update then restore the above. Done!
  • If you use apps to SD then you can set it up at this point.
