I know I was frustrated with not being able to get a working tether method on the F6, and I've seen tons of others post about it too.
I found a simple method that doesn't require any user agents, or the use of metros tether app. This will work even if you didn't pay for the metro tether plan (which they try to force you to do).
The rom I tested this on was CM11. I believe this will work on CM11 or the KitKat rom, not sure about other roms as it might need settings tweeked.
Things you'll need:
-Root
-Wifi Tether Router (this is the app I used. It's paid app from the play store. However looking at the settings this should work with other tether apps.)
-Build.prop editor (I used Rom Toolbox Pro for this).
Steps:
-Use Rom Toolbox (or preferred app) to change the build.prop settings so that ro.region.locale is changed from US to EU
-Run the app WiFi Tether Router
-Leave the settings as is. If you have a different version just make sure to match the settings to the ones I show in the video.
-Run tether.
And done.
**Edit**
I'm running Ubuntu Linux on my laptop and it has no problems. However using wine, and from what other uses said this doesn't work on windows+chrome.
