I want not having much luck with the flip case and my wireless charger.. I have a dual wireless energizer I have used for the last year for my Nexus 7 and MAXX.

I could charge the N7 through the case, but was not having luck with the Motorola Flip case and my Turbo, but it was late and I was not in the mood to mess too much with it.

I will try again tonight hopefully

hey everyone i received my balistic turbo yesterday and love it. The first case that i am using is the verizon shell holster combo :Shell Holster Combo with Kickstand for DROID Turbo | Verizon Wireless.... there are no fit issues with the case and i feel it will serve great until i get bored with it lol. I am waiting to see some reviews on the lifeproof for the turbo so i hope some people pick one up soon because i loved my lifeproof on my s4.

Several options at Verizon. The naked phone is a manageable size, but most of the cases were pretty unwieldy by adding a lot of thickness. I find overly stiff buttons are a weak point on many cases, especially the one-piece molded rubber ones. The CaseMate is the best choice for me. The other cases were all very thick, and most had stiff buttons. At first, the translucent CaseMate looked funny and didn't compliment the black ballistic nylon, but it's growing on me. And the buttons are very easy to push.

LizMac,

how much bigger does the Turbo become with the Life Proof Case? I have the Ballistic Flip case, Might be more gimmicky than I hoped, may swap it for a life proof or just the screen protector and not use a case

Hey sorry I missed this. With the LP on I'd say it adds about... wait, I'll measure it:

3 5/16" wide (at the widest point - the buttons) X 6 1/8"

Still fits in my back pocket nicely.

I would suggest the Tech21 case with something called D3O. Look them up and you will be amazed. It is a simple TPU case but with a special material around the edge. The case is transparent, much slimmer than anything else, and also grippy. Much better than a huge Otterbox or slippery Incipio.

I too have the Tech21 and really like it. I didn't want to like it so much because it is expensive for a case for me ($30). In intended to get it just as a temporary case until Diztronic or another nice TPU maker came out with a case. In my time with it, though, I have really liked the case and am probably going to keep it.
The only change I am contemplating is if they come out with color cases like they have for other lines. The Smokey is their standard case and until recently, only case, but they now have started producing cases with different colors. Would love a dark blue one.

Case feels nice and offers very good protection. Thicker than a TPU case but slimmer than other style cases.
BTW: I have the 64gb version and it fits well.

For what it's worth, nylon and Kevlar are polymers in the aramid family of polymer chemistry, both of which exhibit extremely strong (tensile) characteristics, which is why we see them used in tire cord, luggage, and yes, bulletproof materials. Ballistic is a loosely used marketing term in this case since I doubt very seriously that this phone is "bulletproof"...however, the nylon type used for this phone back apparently is of "ballistic" grade. The main difference in these phones, I believe, is in construction, where the nylon back appears to actually be a fabric, and the others are molded. Just sayin...

Are you saying a case isn't needed? I guess it depends on the person.

I'm sure, with the specs your mentioned, the phone won't break easily if dropped. Though, it can still scratch the plastic and ballistic nylon. A case will help prevent scratching.

is there a bumper available for the Turbo? like the Droid Maxx had?

It just dawned on me today that the 2-piece CaseMate Naked case can be used with the bumper only, without snapping the plastic back on. They don't suggest that anywhere but I don't see why not. Then you're not obscuring the ballistic back but still have edge/drop protection.

I got this Tudia Ultra Slim TPU case on eBay for around 10 bucks I think. So far I think it's my fave. Not bulky but thick enough, and reasonably good looking. It's matte finish, but at the top/bottom shiny black.

i bought the 64gb model today. It has the ballistic Kevlar backing. the three model phones they make all have a different back on them... Why:thinking::thinking::thinking:

I tried on the otter-box commuter and the Incipio (spelling???), that they had, and it fit a little funny.
From what I was able to conclude was most cases will fit great on the plastic, or smooth backed phones, but may be an issue with the "Ballistic Kevlar":thinking:

That's what I'm running into. Every case I like.. not for ballistic backing. UGH.

I like the feel of a case. This phone might be sturdy, but it seems kinda slippery. Or, I'm just klutzy. Not taking a chance.... again. Hahaha

That's my take on it too. I personally couldn't really care less about how ballistic or non ballistic the back is. I'm not a youngun and am not attached to my phone all the time, I worry more about the screen than the back. But I would like a good case for the grip. I would really love to find a flip case that I like that fit it. So far in my searches none have been for the ballistic nylon phone. I purchased it because it was the only one in the store near me at the time, never even considering that getting a case would be an issue.
