Root [CDMA] XT1045 from Cricket is it rootable ?

No go on link you provided. "First, you'll need to unlock the bootloader on your Moto G" Bootloader on Cricket Moto G is locked. I tried to unlock it and got it corrupted. Soft loop. Still recovering.
Theoretically you can unlock bootloader with app called Sunshine but I think you have to be on previous version of Android or something. From July. And you have to pay. This is what I read somewhere. Tried to unlock it with official Motorola site did not work

"Sunshine tool did NOT work on XT1045 from cricket as it has 4.4.4 already. No way to downgrade it either if it is like the other moto g from cricket."

Cricket changed their unlocking policy on Dec 7th and if you meet a bunch of requirements including 6 months service, they will unlock it.

I haven't found another way to unlock it, including trying WeakSauce2 or Towelroot (with the 1337 0 1 0 4 1 modstring).

Perhaps future versions of those root tools will be effective to bust the Cricket Peregrine bootloader. Or just wait 6 months and find out if Cricket will really send you an unlock code to enter via fastboot.

Good luck, :) I'm in the same boat.

Although at&t bought cricket mobile. Cricket phones are still CDMA and not GSM i highly doubt they will switch them over.
I guess I could be wrong, but I believe that the Cricket Moto G's are GSM phones. Also I think I read that all new phones being sold are GSM. MetroPCS did the same thing; stopped selling CDMA and started selling GSM. Metro still supports CDMA in some places but not in others.

All cricket phones sold are gsm. They have been for a while now. They use att's network. In fact att has been quick to disable crickets old cdma network and use the spectrum for there own. That was the whole reason they bought cricket. To the op . No the cricket moto g can't be rooted. Att blocked the boot loader from being unlocked

Oh ok. I wasn't aware of the switch. My last phone i had from cricket was cdma last year (htc 1v) if i remember correctly.

It would make sense for them to switch to bring in other customers with their own phones that are gsm.
Yea they switched almost the minute after the sale was finalized. They basically merged it with there aio brand. They have decent pricing I think 60 bucks gets you unlimited talk text and 10gb of LTE data and throttled after. The only "catch" is your LTE speeds are capped at 8mbps. They really only bought cricket for the spectrum in urban areas. Att has had congestion issues since the first iPhone and when they had to give away spectrum to t mobile as part of the breakup fee it really put them in a bind.

I dunno. The phone itself will get the lollipop update yes. Whether or not att decides to release it and when? That's a whole other issue. Same with the boost and Verizon models. Moto says they will be updated. When the carriers decide to push those updates is completely up to the carrier.
