[Official] Version 1 battery life thread

Uh oh ...

Looked down around 4:00 p.m. and saw only 5% battery left! Normally I'd have at least 50% left and usually closer to 60% at 5:00 pm.

Took it off the charger this morning around 8:15 a.m.

Going to give it a day or two to settle in to lollipop, but this isn't making me happy.

Charged my watch to full last night and took it off the charger around 9:00 p.m. By 6:00 a.m. I was down to 10% and Bluetooth seems to be the culprit.

So, I cleared caches and data and uninstalled Moto Connect and Android wear. I then forgot the Bluetooth connection to the 360 and shut the phone off. I reset the watch, let it boot up and then reinstalled Wear, Connect and repaired. I do notice that the pairing confirmation on the phone was immediate but the watch seemed to take a while before it said it was paired.. It is connected now and hopefully that clears it up. Keep you posted.

Who cares about watch battery life? That's what your phone is for. It's a smartwatch.

It's more than just silly if a smartwatch can't hold a charge long enough to last the course of a normal day. In any case, the process of uninstalling and resetting seems to have cleared up the bluetooth problem.

Took the reset watch off the charger yesterday morning around 10:30 and by 8:00 p.m. it had only used 25% power. Since it was a Saturday, I wasn't getting as many notices as I would on a workday, but still that's pretty darn good.

I have been reading the Motorola boards and this power drain after the update seems to be hitting a good number of people. And a simple unpairing and repairing the Bluetooth connection or simply resetting the watch doesn't seem to fix it. You have to pretty much clear off everything and start fresh.

I just installed facer and today was the first full day of use with the new face. After 8 hours my battery is at 39%. Not bad but before facer I was doubled that.

Just curious what other facer users experience
I've been using facer for a while and it really depends on which watch face you are using. I've been using the Texas watch face and I usually have about 30-40%left at the end of the day (~18 hours). However, when I use the NowV2 watch face I'm almost dead (10-15%) by the end of the day.

That's what I was hoping for.. I mean for me I want to see the watch face all the time. I don't want it lighting up and off any time I flick my wrist, bc that happens alot during a work day. lol. I just want the watch to last from 6am to about 10-11pm.. I was looking at the Lg G watch R but the wireless charging and night clock mode really draws me in

I've had the watch since release and I just started having Battery problems yesterday. Nothing has been different, no new apps and so on. Just losing battery fast. Did a reset today, uninstalled wear and whatnot on my phone, reinstalled, but still not looking good today. Very strange. Can someone explain this BlueTooth issue? How do I fix that? Thanks so much.

I fooled around with it last night. Besides resetting the watch, uninstalling Wear and whatnot, I also went into my phones BT settings and disconnected my moto 360 from the list devices attached. I believe this was the culprit. I re-installed, reset and so far this morning, after taking the watch off the cradle at 7:30AM, I'm now at 91% battery. THIS makes so much more sense than what I was seeing over the last few days. I don't know WHY the issue started, I'm just glad it is over.

Also note, I did not install FACER or WatchMaker Pro this time just to be safe. Maybe in time I will incorporate those back in.

Today will be my first full day. As of right now I have had my watch on my wrist for 3 hours and I'm down to 90%, I had around 10 or so notifications pop up and a handful of screen touches to see the time and an unknown amount of times the watch face was on because of movement. I also messed around with watch faces for about 1 minute.

Side note: my review won't be typical because my job is not a place to wear a watch like this. So for 8 hours out of the day I won't have it on me. I'll easily get a full day. Possibly 2 days? We'll see.
My watch is down to 53% after 15 hours. And that's after trying to deactivate all communication as i only use it as a watch and timer/alarms.

And it just dropped to 51% after 1 minute after testing it's alarm app.

Nice. Still have mine since release weekend. And I'm awaiting version 2. Will more than likely buy it and sell the 2014.

I'm interested in buying an original Moto 360... the only thing holding me back is concerns or questions about battery life.

But it also seems to have been a moving target. Really bad after initial release Fall 2014 until some software update in November 2014 which made it better. And then really bad again after the 5.1.1 update for some folks until they jumped through some hoops to fix it.

So I've read a lot of reviews and threads but it's tough to get a handle... I don't know where those folks were along the timeline. I'm interested in the performance of the device now (assuming I've fixed it after the latest software update).

I do understand we judge a device in total (not just by one parameter like battery life) and the battery life happens to be the disadvantage for this device due to things like non-OLED which can't take advantage of pixels turned black on a watchface. I'm just trying to figure out how bad it really is.

My questions:
Do you get a full day?
Do concerns about battery life significantly curtail your use and enjoyment of the device?
Do you turn ambient mode for the watchface off (so display is off most of the time)?

I put mine on around 7 each morning and back on the charger around 11 each night, usually with around 20% still left. I have ambient off. I don't worry at all about making it through the day. There are some days when it will crap out early and shut down, but that's if I'm really using it a lot...voice commands/texting etc. I usually just read the texts/emails/notifications then respond from my phone or laptop. It's nice to be able to respond from my watch, but honestly, I just tend not to.
