First off. My Boost Mobile F7 is rooted/cwm and Freedom Kernel. I was digging thru all the hidden menu options with (5689#*870#) and my curiosity got the best of me and I clicked an option called "GOTA test". My understanding (afterwards) is GOTA is an OTA update. Mixed with a custom kernel and root etc I messed up smh. Can I manage to adb my recovery.img or anything at all to get this thing to boot again? I'm gonna try to reach download mode on my pc this evening. I'm just reaching out to any of you that are much more in touch with these types of issues. Replacing the board is not the option I wanna be dealt.

Sweeeet. I've gotten answers I needed from both u guys before (forum searches) lol. I haven't needed to actually post a question until now. I was hoping the unbrick tool would work. Its not booting at alllll. I guess I'm worried I can't reach download mode but I will know soon. Ill get back to you all with news later.

Well... I'm working on it. I can't get my PC to recognize my device. I installed the USB driver but my phone is still labeled "qload" or whatever. I ran the flasher with correct dll and tot file. It just goes to a screen of boxes labeled "com" and Ports. I click it and it sits at "ready". Not sure what to do next

I got to the part where u check the box for port 1. Then press ok and it just pulls up the screen full of boxes and com/port names. Tried to go to device manager like the directions on the forum link in step 7 but I couldn't see any "com" ports. I know I'm missin somethin and its probably simple. Which racks my brains even more. Is there a certain way to install the usb drivers so my phone recognizes them?

you would get more and better responses in the optimus F6 forums. this forum is for the F7. I dont know if the hidden menu codes are the same or not so I can't give you much feedback on that anyway.

I'm using a laptop with Windows 7. It isn't showing up "coms/ports" in device manager. Even after pressing "View all" in options. Maybe I need to try on a desktop PC? Idk any shortcuts to access the com ports any other way.

I used a laptop with windows 7 on it. i followed the forum and picture guides exactly, and succeeded in reflashing my phone. I recommend uninstall LG drivers, and start over from scratch, being extra careful to follow everything EXACTLY. if it still doesn't work, then it must be your windows installation. (or you could try a different USB port like chev said. also make sure you're connected to USB directly and not a USB hub :D )

if all that still doesn't work, another computer would be the best option

I never figured it out. The laptop i was using was rather old and i was lacking patience. I ended up just exchanging it for a Replacement phone. I've also bought a new one.... Swapped guts/internals with the new phone by verrry gently removing the sticker/seal under the battery and just returning it like i just got a bad phone and get my money back. It's not ethical but i gotta make it how i can. Its not hurting their wallet like it is mine
