Help Cant update to 4.05.605.14 710RD

I just got a "new" rezound as mine got water damaged and after setting up the new one and checking the software update it seems there is a 207 mb update that Im supposed to install (updates software from 3.14.605.14 to 4.05.605.14 710RD). Everytime I click on update it tries for a few minutes and then says error:service unavailable. I tried using wifi and 4g with a good signal and a factory reset. It just wont start downloading.
My guess is version no longer supports this old phone so they don't have the updates for it on their server anymore.
Any ideas on how to fix this or can I manually install the update somehow?

Yeah... sorry, but 4.3.605.1 was bad for many people, that is why it was pulled quickly and replaced with 4.3.605.2 (still a leak and not official, but way more solid)

Try doing a factory default via Hboot, if that fails you will probably have to RUU the phone... the problem is you installed a leak that has a higher software revision than (almost) all RUU files out there except 4.3.605.2, which can be hard to find. You will need the FULL PC based RUU that runs from a Windows PC, not a flashable ZIP file.

Wish you would have been patient and waited for an answer to your first post, we could have checked some things and figured why it wouldn't upgrade and if it was safe to do it manually, a "new" phone (I take that as it's used) could have been modified to had something done we could have easily checked and corrected.

Thanks for the reply but I returned the phone as a defect and got another one, this one has all the latest software already installed (4.05.605.14). I noticed by the sticker behind the battery this phone is remanufactured (the one with the older software wasn't) that's probably why this one has all the new software. One thing I noticed though was my "new" remaned phone the softkeys on the bottom are dimmer and have a little "blotchiness" to them. Which I don't really mind because I always thought the softkeys were a little on the bright side and they were sometimes distracting. I just wanted to see if this was normal maybe due to newer software or hardware variables on these phones or maybe my remaned phoned got water in it at on point in its life.

Hmm... dim/blotchy hard keys... I have heard this mentioned here and there, but don't think it is software related, probably just manufacturing variance or it's showing it's age a little. Hopefully it isn't a sign the capacitive keys are going out, that has been an issue in early Rezounds (although not common even then).

To be honest the main failure in Rezounds over time is the emmc, or internal storage chip, it seems HTC used a chip of lower quality in the Rezound, or perhaps just certain manufacturing runs, it is failing... over on XDA we see on average a Rezound a week, sometimes 2, that just gives up and dies. This is becoming way to common for a 3 year old device.
