Just found this root method on XDA
Root ANY LG G4 Variant 100% Success Directives | Root Injection | Less Bricks
Has anyone tried this? It claims to not void your warranty which I assume means you are rooting without unlocking the bootloader and not cause DRM issues? I know most people that have rooted haven't come across any problems but I don't really want to go ahead with it unless there is a way to completely go back to stock pre-root/UB.
I haven't read into it too much or the other method as I tend to understand best if I learn it as I go rather than trying to understand what's being said without having it in front of me.

Don't believe it.
Nobody has to provide a warranty on a phone you have rooted.
Don't root unless you know how to flash factory firmware or don't care if you trash your phone.

Believe it. ;)

All you're doing is using Linux to root a system image, then flashing the altered img file with a dd command. It can be easily undone by flashing an unrooted kdz file with LG Flashtool. Once done, there's no way of telling the device has been modified as your bootloader has been untouched.

BTW, I just unlocked my bootloader and there have been no issues with DRM so far.

The only app which didn't work is Now TV and that hasn't worked on any device I've rooted so there's no change there.
