Got to love your attitude WeeWilly! I do Home Inspections for a living and inspected a home for a couple moving back to the Northeast from Florida where they didn't have much left over after selling their home there. He was 74 and his wife was 70. I got a pretty good chuckle when they told me they're taking out a 30 year mortgage.

Enjoy your Samsung NOTE as it really is the best phone on the market!

My wife place her pre order. She has the note 2, great phone, but unfortunately it's coming to the end of its life, phone has been acting goofy for a few weeks and the battery doesn't last very long i think she has to charge it every four or five hours. But considering she's had it over three years and hasn't had any problems really can't complain

Buy a new battery for the note 2 and flash a custom ROM and keep it as a spare, I had my note 2 running 2 days of battery easily with the Ditto ROM

I pre ordered mine from Carphone Warehouse the day after the Note 7 was unveiled. I paid £699.99 and if it turns out to be cheaper elsewhere, I'll just phone them back and ask them to amend the price or lose the order. It comes with the free Gear vr goggles. I was disappointed however to read today that Samsung are going to bring out a 128gb version with 6gb of ram, although probably for sale only in China. This kinda makes me feel like buying a different brand. Aren't we good enough for a Note7 with those spec's?

I suspect this is an expensive gamble by Samsung to gain market share in a country where clones and off-brands are taking a huge chunk of the market. By upping the specs, I suppose that they think Chinese consumers will prefer the real thing to less spec'd clones and off-brands. Putting that kind of storage and RAM into widespread production, however, would be cost-prohibitive and they would have little option but to pass that cost on to consumers. With the Note 7 already priced at $850, a 128GB storage / 6GB RAM option would likely push the cost toward the $1000 mark... and there is a real risk that Samsung would price itself out of the market.

Makes sense, thanks for the possible explanation. I'm not so red faced now! ha ha

I used to use the full body case such as Otterbox but found it made my phone look like something off a building site so I used the LED flip wallet for my note 4 and it protected it really well, not a scratch! Plus the added bonus of people being surprised that the message, call etc notifications were flashing up on the cover. When they asked where they could get one for their phone I could say "theyre only for the note my friend...only for the note!"

Awww, I'm suckin' wind here! All these reports of pre-orders shipping and I can't pick mine up until Friday in store!
You can relax, Chief, because I don't think any pre-orders have shipped. It appears that carriers prepared them for shipping and charged credit cards, but the phones will probably be shipped overnight on Thursday. You'll probably be waiting at the front door when the store opens on Friday, and you may have your phone before our phones are delivered.

I decided to do the pre-order route through Best Buy this time for pick-up on Friday. The AT&T website shows shipping now at Aug 22-29, and I wanted to get it before I go away next week - so here's hoping Best Buy doesn't screw it up. I've had bad experiences with them with pre-orders in the past. They often don't actually hold anything for me. lol

I've never preordered a phone in my life but this time i thought screw it i'm working hard and earning decent money so when i woke up this morning to a preorder email off Samsung UK I went ahead with it. didn't have any bother got the black onyx preordered and my confirmation email. It also says on my order age the VR and a case Foc. I'm over joyed and very excited. I've adored my note 4 and aside from the odd reboot is all good so i may keep it as a spare. Cant wait to get my hands on the note 7.
