Help Txt msg didn't transfer to new phone.

I recently got a new phone and my text messages did not transfer. I turned in my Samsung edge + for the exact same phone...but none of my text messages transferred . it was about 3 weeks ago...
And I really just need text messages from 1 particular contact. it is extremely important . can anyone advise me on how to get them

As far as I know, you can't unless you backed them up beforehand on the old phone (using an app like SMS Backup & Restore or other) and saved the backup somewhere where you can load it on the new phone.

Samsung have an app for migrating data from one photo another. Or there are many backup apps you can use. But unless you did something to back them up they won't reappear by themselves - emails will (with an imap account) because they are on a server elsewhere, but once a sms is delivered it is deleted from the network.
