Hello i have a really irritating problem on my hands here, my Nexus 7 touch screen was broken a while back (puppy got a hold of it no joke) and afterwards was left alone for a while. Later on i decided it was time to repair it, after watching some really helpful videos and tutorials, i ordered a new lCD and digitizer that was already put together and followed a tutorial (https://goo.gl/DQIayc) to put it all together, i followed all the instructions and warnings stated in the video and after putting it all together, was happy to realize i had succeeded (or so i thought). For a few days it worked completely fine, but after a while it started to have kind of a "short" for lack of better words, where the touch wouldn't respond or work at all, then one day it just stopped all together, i have found no videos to help me with this. I have checked the majority of ribbons and wires to make sure i connected them correctly, and they seem fine. Please help! any help is appreciated

You might have received a defective screen. I've replaced a few screens on the Nexus 7 and the best ones I've found are the used A and B stock at iFixit. You pay a little more but these have been pulled from working devices and are guaranteed. Trouble is, they are not always in stock.
I would contact the company you got it from and check on their return policy.

I'm just going to take a completely unsubstantiated guess but I wouldn't be surprised if some puppy drool was part of the problem. Even if things were working OK after you refurbished your Nexus that doesn't necessarily mean that any water (or more specifically saliva) didn't cause some component to fail even after several weeks.
