a/v output to stereo player

Hi there ....have this device new.....something weird with 3.5 mm jack to RCA audio/video cables.
On direct connection to stereo player sound only works when I use video (yellow) cable as one of the channels. TV is o.k., it's HDMI. Is this a known problem? I'm wondering what other little surprises are in store.

Yeh, I think the analogue audio(red & white plugs) out it only active when you use the analogue PAL video(yellow plug) as well, rather than the digital HDMI ports. That's how it was designed. If necessary suggest you enquire with the vendor or manufacturer about it. Could be something in the settings about video and audio out options.
