I want to know if it is possible to use one icon in an apps action bar that slightly (or entierly) differs from that of the app's launcher icon. I want to do this in case the action bar color is too close to the outer most color of the app icon. In this instance, I would have the un-altered launcher icon, and another with a high-contrast outline. I know I could just use the high-contrast icon as both, but sometimes it just doesn't look right to me. I have tried changing the android:icon=@drawable... value in the manifest with no success. It appears to me that the launcher icon is teathered to the others by 'default'. If I can use a seperate action bar icon, how do I declair it? Is there a specific drawable resource directory for this icon?
Note: Currently, the only icon I know of that affects the action bar is located in the drawable-xxhdpi-v4 directory @ 144 x 144px.
