Accessories Galaxy Note 8 glass screen protector options

A Good Glass Screen Protector For The Price - Before spending $45 for a glass screen protector for my N8, I decided to give the amFilm Tempered Glass Screen Protector a try. Installation was easy and bubble-free, and I have changed cases a couple of times and the protector edges haven't lifted. The protector does pick up a lot of fingerprints, but that seems to be a fairly common problem with glass screen protectors.

I had the Whitestone Dome protector on my S8 and it was fine; however, before I purchased the Whitestone I contacted the company and asked about case compatibility. They sent me a list of cases and the one I selected was fine. Since the curved edges on the N8 are not as extreme as those on the S8, I decided to try a full-screen glass protector that was almost one fourth the cost of the Whitestone. So far I've been happy with the amFilm Tempered Glass Screen Protector. I've changed cases several times and the edges haven't lifted.

Have you tried otterbox defender with it? I'm looking for a good glass screen protector that fits well with the otterbox defender... Thanks

Has anyone found a screen protector that really works for the Note 8. I can't seem to find a decent screen protector and I'm starting to see little scratches at the point where the screen curves.....

I have the Whitestone Dome and it looks great.

Whitestone Dome has Note glass on eBay for $45 - very interesting videos on YouTube about it. Full adhesive not just on the sides.

I have it and it looks great

I have the Griffin screen protector. It's curved but not all the way to the far edges of the screen. I have yet to see a full curved glass screen protector that didn't have awful reviews about micro-cracks. This is slightly curved to cover 99% of the usable surface of the screen. I love it, applied it perfectly (SHOCK), but am having difficulty with the sensitivity in the lower right corner of the screen. I'm working with Griffin on that one.

EDIT:

Okay, that was fast.

Griffin is located in the UK, and I wanted a refund. They want to replace it (to save me money returning it to them). To get the replacement, though, I am required to send them photos of the defect, with a piece of paper indicating my case number visible in each shot. Then they will review my photos and send me a replacement.

How, exactly, does one take a photo of a loss of sensitivity in one corner of the screen? Plus the damn thing shattered when I removed it... so I sent them a reply, diplomatically telling them to get stuffed. I'll throw this thing out and chalk it up to 'experience'.

GRRRRR

PART TWO:

After I called out Griffin, they surprised me by shipping out a replacement at no cost. We'll see if screen consistency improves.

PART THREE:

Griffin sent me a package by UPS Overnight. In the box are not one, but TWO Note 8 screen protectors. Now these are $40 each, so I suppose I should be grateful. Or should I?

On the one hand, it's nice that they sent me a replacement and a spare. The cynic in me, though, wants to think that they sent me two as a way of saying 'here, choke on 'em'. Besides: if their screen protector is all that great, why would I need a spare?

Oh well, at least they sent me something, despite the unknown motive...

I'm using the Zagg tempered glass...and works great with my Spigen Neo Hybrid Crystal case

Best Buy told me the good Zagg tempered Glass was back for the Note 8 the clear one which we used for our HTC's. Our 7 edges they didn't make it just the ones with the black or silver at the top or bottom. We used to love the Zagg tempered Glass so you like the Zagg for the Note 8 and is it the clear? I'm gonna call my Zagg Kiosk at the mall and find out more about it. Now to shop for cases!

I do like it and it's clear...I got mine on Amazon (free 2 day shipping and I think it was a lil cheaper).

I just saw this and it looks awesome. Has anyone tried this yet?
I'd be suspicious of anyone praising fit and function for an android when they clearly have an apple computer in the back ground.

For my last two Note 5's and my new Note 8 I went with the Supcase Unicorn Beetle, it's full protection exceeding mil spec and is proven as I've dropped both Note 5's multiple times with no damage to the phone, still looked like new when I took it out to send back for trade in. They come with a plastic screen protector that leaves no bubbles as there is no adhesive making for a crystal clear screen. With that said after extended use the plastic tends to get wavy so I wound up removing the plastic on both the 5's. It's the slimmest full body case I've ever seen/used and highly recommend them.

Now that same case is identical for the Note 8 with one caveat, the plastic screen protector makes sensitivity useless for gaming and you have to mash down good for everything else so I popped it out and it will remain naked Gorilla glass until I get another phone. Highly recommend the case just not the screen protector. Got them all off Amazon.

This is the exact one I got, love it also because it has a very rugged swiveling belt clip and gives complete protection when snapped into it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074W2MC7L/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 4 colors to choose from.

Sorry I didn't realize I wrote and you replied and I had wrote again which I was trying to delete and now I don't even see it. The Zagg glass didn't get good reviews at all on Amazon or at Zagg so I am kind of leary. My husband is getting a Spigen Neo Hybrid black case and I ordered this casemate one but now I like this Spigen one with a kickstand but Amazon is out of the color I want and Spigen has it which is weird cause it's sold by Spigen on Amazon but it's 1/2 price from Amazon. Anyway phones and cases coming tomorrow so I need to decide on protector. I just like the Zagg stand at our mall and they put them on and I can go in there anytime and get one reput back on for 8 or 10 bucks which I've done twice on my 7 edge. I just want whatever protector I end up with to work with 2 or 3 different cases If I get more than one.

Thanks,

I tried a Whitestone and had to pull it off and return it, I just could not get it on right after 2 attempts.

I am using the Plastic Film one mentioned above, it's not bad.

I tried 2 Different Glass ones from Amazon and neither fit well, one did not fit at all and one fit but the area where the rightmost icons are was not sensitive, like the glass was not sitting down there

This was close:

This did not fit:

Sure am glad you can do returns from Amazon items Easily!

I have always used and liked Zagg products, I think I will give theirs a try in a couple of months (After recovering from all the misc purchases I have made lately)!

Mine had a Case with it, in it's Box.
DO they all have that or was it just the International (Likely an Asian) Phone I bought from EBay?
That is all I plan to use on this Note 8.

I should add this: I used mine without a screen protector after hearing about how great the glass is
and I have used some of my phones including a note 4 without one for a good while.

I am very careful with my phones

but mine got a scratch and a few spots on it

with a screen protector on it you cannot see them but still

just a warning this glass is much softer than that on note 4s

well at least on my note8 it is

Same here. I keep reading reviews but nothing that I find terribly encouraging. I have ordered a screen protector since I have to have something, but I'm going to keep reading and see what works for most people.
I ordered a Singularity Glass screen protector for my Note 8, tried it. It didn't work. Tried while removing and putting back on my cases - a thick one, 2 very thin ones. But the 3rd time, the protector came right off in my hands. So I am waiting - if any better screen protector comes along.
thanks

I went to the Zagg stand at the mall and she said the glass one for the note8 was getting returned and that it wasn't fully sticking just on the corners and that people weren't liking it I don't know. She recommended me to get the same one I had for my 7 Edge just the invisishield HD whatever it is so I did and she put that one on and I at least have something on. The ZAGG glass didn't get very many good reviews on Amazon but it did on Zaggs website, so I wasn't sure what to do.

That's the problem with the curved glass screen. A 0.3mm curved glass screen protector will be much more fragile than the actual screen: customer reviews on all of them prove that. My Griffin protector is great for what it does - but I'm still having some sensitivity issues and will very likely remove it. They all seem to do more harm than good, and their primary benefit is providing a false sense of security.

I removed the Griffin screen protector. End of story.

I kept seeing spots on the screen, but they wouldn't clean off. When I removed the protector I saw that it was dirt and dust UNDER the protector. I installed it perfectly, on a pristine surface. The adhesive around the edges must have allowed it to get in there.

Oh well - my brief relationship with curved glass screen protectors is over...

I went with this based on registering it and getting a free one if I damage it or if it breaks. So far, it is holding up nicely with my Otter Box Defender. If I get disgruntled with it, I think I'll try the Whitestone. It has some really good reviews.

I'm not an owner but beveled screens can crack. Curved screens are a break wAting to happen.

Flat Screen or break!!!
Anything "can crack". If it happens to me, then I'll report it here. I think that is all has to do with how well you treat your phone and where you carry it. For me, I just stick it in my pocket and go. I'm not a fan of the belt clips anymore. I've only had mine for a few days now so time will tell...if it was me or just the failed product that caused the demise of the glass screen. Either way, I love the warranty of this glass.
