I really don't expect Microsoft to go anywhere soon, so I DO use OneDrive. However, we also have 12TB of NAS here, split into two 6TB clones.

Plan B is use the new software, and pick which folders i want to sync...

its really not that difficult a plan to implement, or am i missing something?

The Google Drive app is going away. Google drive is not. You will be using another app to access it. Not a big deal.

I just use it via Google's web page I only use it to move stuff between devices, not for storage. I'd be more worried if Play Music went away.

There are a lot of very large corporations that use drive with terabytes of data. I doubt it will be going away. I personally have about 75 gb of data on there.

There's a big misconception that Google Drive is going to just disappear. Google Drive itself isn't going anywhere, we can continue using the Android app and/or web browser interface like we have been all along, it's just the Windows and Mac desktop applications that are getting axed. If you do use it on your desktop/laptops, the 'Backup & Sync' replacement application is already available if you don't want to use the web browser interface.
