S6 : replacing digitizer...i think i ruined my phone permanently.

Replacing the digitizer and i think i ruined the phone permanently. While removing the front glass I accidentally cut in half the bottom left touch screen buttons tiny ribbon cable. Will my phone still work?

I need to know because the new digitizer arrives tomorrow and if i screwed myself by cutting that connection i wont even take the digitizer out of the packaging and send it back.

If you were using a razor blade like that to cut into and pry apart glued parts, I would not be surprised if there was other damage besides a cut ribbon cable. (... also judging by those irregular scratch marks in your posted pic.) Something that's a) metallic and b) very sharp is one thing that should never be used to dis-assemble a smartphone.
As for keeping or returning that digitizer, I'd lean towards just returning it but that's really up to you. There's no way to really determine if other damage was done to that phone going by just a partial photo. If you really need anything on that phone it might be worth it to put your phone back together and retrieve what you can.

I don't know what that particular ribbon cable is for, as I don't have your phone in front of me to look into it. But taking into consideration it's a ribbon cable and not just a wire, there's multiple functionality tied to what it was doing.
As for nothing else being damaged, I'll still contend there's a good chance there's other issues, just going by those scratches, and the plain fact that a razor blade is metallic (note a S6 Active doesn't have a user-replaceable battery so unless you've manually disconnected the battery BEFORE inserting anything like a metal razor blade into your phone, the reality of shorting out important components is increased significantly).
