My phone was taken hostage

Here's a topic not sure if it's already being discussed. But, for over a 3 day period someone was controlling my phone account. I think they got to my phone through Facebook, I finally had to set up new Google account and remove my other one, my question is, how can I figure out who did it?

It's most likely they got in through your Google account. Make sure your current one has a strong password and two factor authentication is on.

Unless they were stupid I doubt you can find out who. Google will have a record of the IP addresses and devices used to access your old account, but how much use that will be isn't obvious (and if they show a location that is often the location of the ISP rather than the device, and is always very approximate).

Thank you, I have also removed all old info out of my phone

Also try to keep in mind when ever using your Google account on different devices other than your own, it's always best log off from that device to keep Google from saving your user and password information open if the device is turned on or used by a different user.

Sign into your old account from a PC and then go to https://myaccount.google.com/device-activity. If you see any unrecognized device then that could be your hacker. If you don't see anything out of the ordinary, then it's possible that someone has been using a PC or other device that you've signed in on to access your account.

For example, if you sign into your personal Google account at work and someone else has access to that machine, then they could easily use your account as if they were you and you'd never get alerted about a new device accessing your google account.
