SanDisk 64GB card gone for good?

So I've been using a SanDisk Ultra 64GB card on my Geotel Note 4G which I made a backup yesterday of all the files it had, and then I did a factory reset on the phone (it had a lot of junk accumulated from apps, games and stuff). After that, the card was no longer eligible to be formatted on the phone although it was recognized as a SanDisk 64GB.

I have tried to format it on Windows, Lubuntu, Nintendo Switch and on other Android devices but none worked.

I mean, I didn't lose my content at all but I really liked the SD card's and have been using it for years. Sadly it looks as though it's the end of the road for it. Is there anything worth trying to unlock it or is it really corrupted?

Android - Can't format (or something similar)
---------
Windows - Unable to format
Damn, nothing remotely helpful there. I was hoping it would at least give some clues, even if it was bad news like a master boot record failure (which in my experience means "buy a new card" - I managed to recover data from a card in that state once, but the repair of the card only lasted a few minutes).

Well, the card was working perfectly before the reset, the trouble began after it which I didn't expect since it always worked. Had a spare 64GB thankfully and made a backup of my files so nothing was lost.
Shane about the SanDisk card, I really cherished it.

Have you tried running chkdsk or something similar, to see whether a fault can be identified or fixed?
Tried it but ends up being unable to recognize after a certain point strangely. On Lubuntu, it was recognized as an Android card though it didn't allow to format. It seems like it can work again but it's sort of stuck somehow.

MicroSD cards sometimes are labeled wrong on purpose.
Did the package it came in have a hologram on it? Samsung uses silvered holograms.
My fake Samsung card package looked shiny online. But when it stopped working and I looked closely at the package it wasn't silvered.
I think you got a fake MicroSD card.
It was from an official retailer and I checked the card via h2testw, and it passed flawlessly. Now, I don't remember its packaging because it was years and years ago.
I have two other SanDisk 64GB cards on a Samsung tablet and on a Switch and works normally. Think the phone DRM'd the card to hell.

You're running Marshmallow. Did you change that card to internal storage? It won't work with other phones if you do that.
Yeah, it's running on Marshmallow (Android 6.0) and at the time it was set to internal storage use but it doesn't work now. Maybe if the Recovery Mode had a way to format the card it'd solve it (I know it can once it's rooted).
