Hey, I have a Google pixel. I recently updated updated my OS to Android Pie. I have been facing massive Battery drain after this update. Once after a full charge, my phone hardly lasts more than 4-5 hours. Is there any fix for this? Or should i downgrade the update?
Thanks,
Barry.

I have a Pixel 2, so don't have direct experience of the original Pixel, but have had no such problem with mine.

Have you tried to work out what is causing the battery drain? Try a third party battery monitor if the system one isn't giving enough information, or just to get a different perspective (different apps sometimes break down the drain between related things like screen vs app that's being run differently).

It's always worth trying a factory reset when looking at problems following a major update, but if you can identify a possible cause first you can try something more surgical.

A good check is to reboot into Safe Mode. This (temporarily) disables your installed applications and can help to narrow down the source of the battery drain. If the phone is able to last much longer while in Safe Mode that would generally indicate that one (or more) of your apps is misbehaving and causing the battery drain. If not, then there might be a misbehaving system component.
