Tablet won't boot

I have an inexpensive tablet (nextbook) which I used successfully for some time. However I turned it on the other day & it would not get passed the second "nextbook" intro screen,

I have tried several times unsuccessfully to use the reset button. I thought that if I removed the battery for a few minutes that might work but I can not figure out how to remove the back cover.

Any way I am just using it for a learning tool however any help would be appreciated.

You might want to try and wipe your caches and then reboot.

You can do this from recovery. From what I see about the nextbook line, you get to recovery with the power off, holding down the power and volume up button until the splash screen appears, then release the power button but keep holding the volume up until recovery boots.

Here's a demonstration:

Once there, select wipe cache partition and you might want to go into advanced (if you have that option) and wipe the Dalvik cache to. Then try and reboot.

If that doesn't work, you might have to perform a factory reset.

The reset button only power cycles the unit and doesn't really change anything.

I have tried as suggested but no response, I held down on the keys for approx 60 sec without getting any response. I am not giving-up (yet). I will try again tomorrow when I have more time.

As a last resort I may do as as mikedt suggest

Thank you all, I will let you all know if anything positive happens,

Again thanks for your assistance however nothing appears to work. I will contact the manufacturer support .
After playing around with it I have determined that it may possibly have a defective reset button. I have used reset buttons in the past & noted that you can always feel the button depressing (ever so slightly) however with this one it does not happen it just feel like pressing against a solid object.
For now I will just set it aside :(

You can also get to recovery through the "fastboot" screen. With the tablet powered off, press and hold the volume down button and the power button untill the unit flashes - then release the power button and continue holding the volume down button untill the fast boot screen shows. Then you can use the volume down button to scroll through the menu at the top center of your screen, (boxed text) the power buttun is used to confirm your choice. This is swhat works on my Nextbook Ares 11.
