Sorry, at work so not going to be able to reply much. check my instructions on the first page in my how to root post. I laid it out pretty clearly there but the next thing you need to do is boot the TWRP image: fastboot boot twrp.img

Then flash magisk 18.1 which you should have placed on your phone's internal storage

Quoted it forward for convenience. I think you have completed many of the steps.
How to root it?

First thing you need to do is unlock your bootloader.

You will need this on your PC: https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools.html

Full instructions for unlocking the bootloader, directly from the android site: https://developers.google.com/android/images

Step 2 would be to grab the latest TWRP image:
https://dl.twrp.me/taimen/
I believe you'd want: twrp-3.2.3-1-taimen.img

And for a permanent install you'd need to also download the corresponding zip. Personally, especially with your current knowledge of the process I would skip the permanent install for now.

Next you need to also grab the latest stable version of magisk from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445

Place the zip on your phone's internal storage.

Next boot into your bootloader either manually or using adb command: adb reboot bootloader

Once you're there, use fastboot to boot the TWRP image: fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3-1-taimen.img

That should load you directly into TWRP. From there install file, and use the magisk.zip you placed on your phone.

Reboot the device and you should be rooted.

Hopefully you understand how to use adb and fastboot, if not I won't be available for most of the day to answer questions but I'll check in later when I can and see how you're doing.

is that twrp.image sitting alone on the desktop, or is it put into the platform-tools folder?
ok so it looks like u got adb opened in the right directory next you need to do fastboot but you are pointing the command in the wrong place it should be:
Code:
fasboot boot c:\users\danny\desktop\platform-tools_r28.0.2-windows\platform-tools\ twrp-3.2.3-1-taimen.img

you could have just created a folder on your desktop so that the path is much shorter....lol

edit: because your path is so long you have to scroll the code box dialog

Think about this for a minute...When you start the rooting process, the first thing you do is unlock the bootloader. Then you get a pop-up message that says that your phone will be wiped clean(like a factory reset), so back it up. I've NEVER gotten those messages because my phone came to me unlocked. I suggested this before, because it's the only thing that makes sense to me...Why not re-lock the bootloader, let it wipe the phone, and then start fresh and unlock the bootloader?

I did create a folder on my desktop. I unzipped the platform-tools folder and put it on my desktop.

yeah but you dont need the platform tools folder to use adb commands, you just need adb command and a few files that was extracted from the platforms tools. you can put those in a folder named rooting or something like that. your path is like a folder within a folder that's on your desktop.......its fine.....its just a lot to either copy and paste in or type in is all......lol

main thing is you now have the correct path.

no the twrp image does not need to be on the phone. truthfully you can have the twrp img anywhere on your pc. you just need to make sure that you have the correct path for it when you type the command. just leave it in the current path that you have. i would copy and paste the command i did above (of course changing the correct name of the twrp .zip that you are using) and you should be fine.

the twrp.zip file (if you want twrp permanently) will be on your phone along with magisk.

Fastboot is still NOT being recognized!!!! View attachment 141312

That because you are in some kind of adb mode instead of fastboot, hence your adb devices returned with an alphanumeric code. You'll know your in bootloader/fastboot mode when the cmd 'fastboot devices' registers like 'adb devices' did..
