Explanation mark on my video

Hello I hope someone can help me please... I did a video recording on my Samsung J5 and it has a grey circle with an explanation mark...when I go to play it says "Failed to play video an unknown error has occurred" I cleared the Cache.. I should have used voice recording. Its a very important meeting one and I am worried I have lost it..Please help..Thanks

PS I am not good with the phone stuff...

That doesn't sound good, though "unknown error" is obviously not a helpful message.

The first thing I'd do is use a file explorer and check that the file is there and is a sensible size. I'd then take a copy of it (copy to elsewhere on the phone, to SD, or to a computer - the last would be best). Then I'd see whether a different app can play it: try VLC, which can handle most things. Also if you have a computer see whether you can play it there.

The key question is really whether the problem is with the file or your video player. If the latter it's not a big deal, if the former you probably have lost it.

P.S. it's actually an "exclamation mark".
