1st off this is on my new Alcatel 7 smart phone model 6062W. Today completely out of left field I am receiving unsolicited chat invites like in the screen capture bellow. Other then the unsolicited chat requests the phone works fine. I have no idea how to stop the unsolicited chats short of doing a factory reset.

not familiar with your phone, but try and put it in safe mode and see if it happens still. if nothing happens in safe mode then that means a third party app is causing it. you will need to either do a factory reset and start over.......being careful on what gets installed.

or

uninstalling apps one by one, starting with your most recent apps and work your way back until you find the culprit.

I spoke to soon , I didn't get it. I am still getting those IM's and chat request's even in safe mode and Chrome isn't on. I also get them in Chrome as well. Unless someone has some other ideas. When I get home from the Dr appointment today. I am going to start backing up what I need to save then do a factory reset. Now if the OS was Windows. I know how to stop those things dead in there tracks then wipe the prog's without having to wipe the whole HDD clean and starting over. But I am not that good in Android. I bricked 1 phone while learning to root it.

Steve

PS: I don't know how those IM's and chat request's got started in the 1st place.

It is probably some web page that I looked at. The problem is that I don't know what I looked at, that started it.

If it's browser stuff it's likely some website you visited.

The other way is if an app you installed is responsible (adware).

Either way a reset won't help for long if you then repeat whatever you did that caused the problem.
