I bought a new phone and always used Nova Launcher for my default launcher but now when I want to set it on my new phone, it is not showing in my default apps so I am not able to set it as my default launcher. I also tried downloading another launcher but still the same issue, can not find it in the default apps list. Please can someone tell me what to do? Thanks in advance.....

so as @Dannydet is suggesting, do not expect much from an offbrand phone, especially with only 8 gigs of storage space and 1 gig of ram.

with that note are you sure the launcher is installed? so it is not in your app drawer at all? what does it say in the play store, under my apps? does it say installed? or go into settings and under app management, is the launcher listed?

I can't find the specs of the Ruby, but it's not a decent budget device I would think.

Can you make Nova the default in the Nova Settings. I can with Microsoft launcher.
I can't say either why it's nor showing in default apps, but Mobicel must have their own skin.

What device did you have before?

If you can get a Nokia 1.3 or 2.3 or Moto E6 in exchange or by returning the Ruby, you would be better served.

I don't know which brands are available to you and if you can step up a little more.

Difficult to answer you for that device, sorry.
