Root New "Root" Method For Z981(Zmax Pro)

here is the order:

if you reboot after flashing lineage, i would try and start over....using the steps above.

Alright, so I flashed everything, including gapps. When I open Magisk and tap on safetynet check, it displays a red "x" on ctsProfile: False, and a green check on basicIntegrity:true. Is anything wrong? How can I fix the cts profile error?

Yeah, It is awesome what a small group of folks with completely different skill sets can achieve as long as they don't give up. We still like to thank everybody that have participated on any testing, debugging, coding or sharing of ideas since this phone was released. This date truly is a Root/Modding Community WIN.

BTW, Armando, Extolis, Messi & others have been hard at work on different (ASOP, RR, AEX) Nougat ROM's. They should be available as soon as they go stable. Big bugs are squash now. So mostly need to fix some codecs & such. So keep tune for that announcement. Oreo is next too...

can you please send the invite link to the server? the others are not working

hey i know this is years old but does anyone have the stock firmware files for the z981 T-mobile? i made the mistake of flashing twrp before unlocking the bootloader...SMH. fortunately it still boots to twrp recovery. I also mistakenly erased the system I believe, Awesome, i know. any help, advice, whatever would be much appreciated!!!
how did you wipe system if you did not unlock the bootloader? what did you do? can it still boot up?

Not sure exactly. I used the EDL to flash TWRP and then attempted to root with magisk. Hung on ZTE screen upon reboot so I booted to recovery and I think I must have mounted the system and wiped it. I'm not positive but I know that at one point it said there was no OS installed when I tried to reboot. The system may still be intact but I'm afraid to try to boot since the bootloader is still presumably locked...I did find a stock T-Mobile zip but I'm not sure how to flash it

Try booting it up. You should not be able to wipe the system without root access. Factory reset.... Yes.... But not the entire system.

Where did you get the firmware? So you have a link?
Are you sure I should boot it? Won't that potentially brick it? I got the stock firmware file from "LoonyGCB's" link. I don't have the link on hand, I can post it in a little while. I will also include a screenshot of the .zip folder/files. Thanks for your response!!!

if it is bricked, it is bricked regardless. if it loops, you should still be able to get to twrp recovery. like i was asking, how do you know you wiped the os, if you have not booted up?

OK, I'm about to give it a shot. I thought it had no system because when I attempted to reboot after installing TWRP, it said no OS installed. However, when I go to make a backup in TWRP it is saying System (1575MB) and System Image (3072MB) so there must be SOMETHING there. I will let you know if it boots or not

Okay so I rebooted and it is hanging on ZTE screen...like for a couple hours.. should I continue with trying to flash magisk and custom ROM? Or try to go back to stock? I have a full firmware zip including boot.img and recovery.img, I just don't know how to flash the whole thing. I didn't see any firehose.emmc. it might be flashable through TWRP but idk how to tell. Also, I can boot EDL mode and it shows on the computer but when I try a fastboot command it just says waiting for any device.

Yeah get a working phone first and then try rooting again. Do you have that link?

That's the file sharing site. Where did you get the pink from?
The pink? I'm assuming you mean the link? I didn't actually find a link to it. The guy who uploaded it (loony) had posted a link to the metro PCs firmware. I followed the link and checked out his other files and he happened to have a T-Mobile one as well. I have tried messaging him through XDA I believe but no response
