jakewill's GoogleVoice How To: Free Minutes, Texts, Visual Voicemail, and Calendar

Good point... Along those lines, you can easily add or change ff numbers from www.myverizon.com . Thanks for the tip!

Ok I've looked all over the freak'in Verizon Wireless website and I can't figure out how to add the Google Voice number to my F & F account. I'm sure it's a very simple task that my minuscule brain will not allow me to comprehend so I apologize in advance for asking the most doltish question of the day.

If you send a SMS to someone using gvoice, wont it show up as coming from some random number?

Secondly, if your contacts are used to SMSing your current VZW number, and you want to use gvoice instead to hold SMS convos, wont you have to tell all your contacts to switch to SMSing your gvoice number instead?

Yes, in general you'll have to tell all your contacts to use your new GV number instead of your old one. Alternatively, you can port an existing number over to GV, but unfortunately that will terminate your existing contract if you have one.

I know ya got it, but for everyone else:

VerizonWireless.com > Log in to My Verizon > Click Plan Details under Minutes Usage > Click Friends & Family on the right side under My Plan > Add the Phone Number and Description and save.

To make things even easier, you can download the My Verizon application in the market. It lets you add Friends and Family without having to go to the website.

I'm using Google Voice for my voice mail. Is there any way to have it auto enter my PIN when I do a long hold on "1" to access my Google Voice voice mail?

I'm not interested in the option where I can set GV to not require a PIN if the call comes from my cell. That's not secure.

I went to menu->settings->call->voicemail settings and I see my GV number in the voicemail number, but don't see anyway to edit it to add my PIN.
