My Contact Card

When I try to update my photo under contacts (My Contact Card) I get an error. Under the old 1.5 I had it use my Facebook photo with no problem. With the new 2.1 I have tried to update my picture from my new Facebook photo, I recently changed my photo, I get the following error:
"The application HTC New (process.com.htc.htcnew) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." There is a "Force Close" button at the bottom. That happens every time. I tried to delete My Contact Card but there does not seem to be a way to do that. Any ideas are welcome.

The first thing I would try is to reboot the phone (which you have probably done). next, I would make sure you have Facebook set to update automatically, and do a manual update of Contacts: HomeScreen->Menu->Settings->Accounts&Sync->Facebook for HTC Sense->SyncNow. then go Back->Google->Sync Now.

If this fails, and you are using GMail to store your contacts, I would do the following:

1). Backup your google contacts from your PC (Export all contacts to a google csv file on your disk) just in case.

2). Delete the contacts on your phone, either with a third party solution, or by going to Settings->Applications->Manage applications (wait...wait...wait)->Contacts Storage->Clear Data.

3). Now, either let the phone sync by itself, or manually sync all the Google contacts, then Facebook.

Again, please make sure you have backed up your contacts on your PC/Mac before deleting the contacts on the phone. I had to reboot before my contact card showed up properly, but since it did, it's been working perfectly, and has my facebook pic.

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the help. I love this forum. It is a great resource. I did the reset and it seems to have cleared up the issue. I have been working around computers for many years. I have always been a believer of "when in doubt, reboot". I have used that logic on a coke machine when I could not get a soda out of it. I unplugged it for a minute and plugged it back in. I got my coke!
