[Color] So they fixed the clock. One of the ergonomic stupidities of the Note 8 is the black S-Pen. It is very easily lost because black.
I get the fashion or design reason but still.
With my last black note I bought a white S-Pen.
I now find you can get this "gold" S-Pen. It's marketed as...
(/Color) Really happy about what might seem a trivial change in Oreo. No limitation any more on folder colour. This happens to help me a lot dealing with my home screen which has maybe 14 folders
About to take my Note 8 in to get the dead pixel sorted so I was archiving files off it. (Samsung guys had said they would work on it rather than replace it.)
It appeared to freeze partway through the second tranche of file transfer. Long press on the right button eventually - after some...
Just got round to using Optical Reader and am seriously impressed.
I used to use OCR a fair bit with some high end software and a flat bed scanner on a desktop machine.
Optical Reader is way better. Very accurate indeed and fast.
Is there a way to export browser bookmarks eg from Chrome, Firefox and the Samsung one? Preferably a way that doesn't involve the cloud.
My phone will be going through a factory reset when the screen gets fixed.
Note 8 is three months old. I noticed an obvious design flaw on day one. The ratchet on the new S-pen.
Sure enough, mine failed a few days ago. Very hard to remove it when the phone is in a heavy duty case. I use my S-Pen almost every time I use the phone.
These fancy pens are expensive. UKGP...
Phone rebooted itself. My screens (home etc) just all half cleared, Widgets gone. Most folders gone. ⅔ of apps gone (but are still installed). I did a reboot and then a hard reboot. Still nothing.
What happened?
Can I get it all back?
Specialist app problem. Loving the scroll screen-shot facility. We Twitter people use this a lot in politics.
I have what appears to be an unusual problem which is trivially easy to deal with on my computer but I want easily to do it on my Note 3; the S-pen is ideal for doing this sort of thing...
Anybody tried transferring a load of data [like 120Gb] from one MicroSD to another bigger one [256Gb]? I've no idea how I'd try to do that in an efficient way with just an Android phone and Macs.
I'm looking for the Android phone with the best radio for my friend who lives in a fringe area. Her dumb phone works fine there. So far, smart phones - not so much.
I hear the Moto G offers the best radio. Is this true?
I am hoping Samsung has dropped their boneheaded decision to drop memory expandability in the Note series with the Note 6. Rumour suggests it has? The Note 5 looked like a complete dud for that reason. I was left with abandoning Galaxy Note at that point.
And will the larger internal phone...
I've been using Tile app for a week or so on my Note 3. This is a Bluetooth 4 device and associated app. I was one of many crowd funders of this but was about to sell my iPhone-only pre launch tiles when the company up and released an Android app for it. Works on only some Android phones.
You...
I am trying this bluetooth remote release for the Note 3 camera. It so far works with the stock camera app but (at least so far) not my usual A Better Camera app. The first downside I've found is there is no 'off' switch which may or may not present problems - apart from the obvious battery...
I know that Chrome and Firefox allow you to re-request a web page as the desktop version, is there a browser that only serves up desktop pages default and no 'phone' pages?
I now have a partial answer to my long-standing beef with my first smartphone - the Note 3. Yes it's that appalling radio performance compared to every dumb phone I've had. This meant the Note 3 only half worked "as a phone" in my home. Just so long as the wind was blowing the right way.
A...
