3G and wifi related app

Hello....

I was wondering if there is an app that can switch from 3G to wifi depending on which is available and hopefully I get to set my preferences.

Try asking in the "tasker" threads, it seems like something it could do.

My phone does this automatically if I have both enabled... giving priority to wifi. Of course, it consumes battery life faster, constantly scanning for wifi. If you have to resort to an external app to accomplish the same thing on your device, I think it's inevitable that you will experience the same battery issue.

Thanks guys. I'll check out the tasker thread, but i just can't afford to put more load on the battery as it is the battery-life on my phone sucks.

I thought it would be a "smart" thing to have on a phone.

Funny you asked. I just bumped into BestSignal, which does exactly that:

JUICE DEFENDER does that.Its the only reason and option i use the app for i just leave it set at balanced and forget about it.Sometimes it will get stuck and i need to shut off 3g/wifi and turn it back on outher than that it works without a problem.If someone can recommend something better i would happily try it.

Hi there! Try using Wifi Manager Pro.This application permit you to connect automaticaly to your prefered Wifi location.Add a location and when you come back at this point Wifi will be ON and the 3G will be turn OFF to save battery time.Wifi will be switch OFF when you leave this point and 3G will be turn ON automaticaly (3G or GPS can be used to locate you). Its an easy and usefull application.
