Help A different type of ringtone question...

Hello all...

I'm a newbie here, but I've searched for this answer and couldn't find it anywhere. I have the Droid 3 and I'm wondering if I can make it play different ringtones for text messages. I know how to change the notification ringtone so that's NOT what I'm asking. I'm asking if a text message from my wife can play a different ringtone than a text from my son. I know phone calls have this customizable option. Do the texts have it as well?

I'm not sure if the D3 has this support yet, but using a 3rd party SMS program like Handcent SMS will give you a ton of per-contact configuration options. I currently have custom ring tones, vibration patterns, and indicator LED colors set for specific contacts.
