Help Airave setup

So I just got an Airave and having trouble setting it up. It works fine if I go directly to it from the modem but when I go through my router it won't work.

Although the geniuses at Sprint tech support didn't tell me this, I did open up a bunch of UDP ports I found online: 53, 67, 68, 500, 4500, 52428.

It still doesn't work. Either there are more ports I need to open or maybe the issue is with my router is the root of the problem. I have an Asus rt-n56u. I actually did see one person mention that they downgraded the firmware on that router for the airave but this is a rather old firmware and I am hoping there is another solution before I want to try that. Any ideas?

Hello,
I had Airawe setup issue until I run GPS receiver to the window. And yes I hooked it up PAST the modem and router - just plugged it in one of 4 connectors on the router - no software modifications. So try to run GPS to the nearest window. It should be enough just sit it inside the house on the window seal. Hope it'll help.

The airave should work without you needing to muck around with ports on your router. I also chose to ignore the default setup in the instruction manual. I plugged my airave into a free port on my router.

There are 3 lights to watch when you first turn it on. The first one is the Broadband LED. It starts out blinking, but that should be the first one to turn solid after a few minutes. If it turns solid, then your connection to your home Internet is fine.

Next LED to watch is GPS. I had to connect the GPS antenna and put the receiver on my windowsill to get a GPS lock, and it took a while... Maybe 10 minutes. Instruction manual says it could take longer.

Finally, the mobile LED should turn solid once Broadband and GPS are both solid.

I also have an Asus rt-n56u and can't get Airave to work on it. It worked fine on my old Linksys.
On Asus router, the Broadband and GPS LEDs both go solid green but the Mobile LED blinks green for a long time then goes blinking Amber. I tried putting the Airave on the router DMZ with no change. Of course Sprint had me reset the airave and pull power but no luck there either. They sent me a new device which gives same results on inside and DMZ.
Any other suggestions how to get them to work together?
Thanks in advance!

I was having a similar problem and I fixed it by allowing the all the VPN passthroughs on the latest firmware 1.0.1.x(x) this works to the current firmware revision.
