Just got my new phone and am set up with Credo Mobile as of yesterday. Does not seem to have the latest Gingerbread update yet and am not sure I want it after reading some of your results.

Has anyone here used the Motorola Bravo? Just wonder how the Optimus S comparess?

I'm with Credo too- I've talked to 4 different techs- one kept saying I wasn't supposed to even have the update- it was all a big mistake. Another said they were working on a solution to either fix it or revert back, but she didn't know how long that would be, and credited our acct. for a month of data charges.

4th guy I talked to, 3G was actually working for me, so I'm not sure he even believed there was an issue. He said it would be fine for my other family members to go ahead and update their phones when it was pushed to them. When I asked why we'd do that, when it already screwed up 1 phone, he said they could just call him if there were any problems, not that he did anything useful to fix mine.
Credo support sucks!

Many of us were able to avoid Sprint's (WiFi Hotspot killing) ZVD update several months ago. We did so by doing the following:
1. Go into the "More Info" page of the update.
2. Pull the battery (I think immediately, while the phone is trying to get to the page).

Pulling the battery after clicking "More Info" on the update notice prevented any future nagging notices to update. I'm not sure if the same is true of this ZVH update. I haven't gotten the notice yet.

I received the Gingerbread update this morning and so far, so good...no problems, my apps all work correctly, my keyboard is good and my text messages and emails still work correctly. My phone works exactly as it did before and the wifi and 3G work as normal. The only difference is the look of the screens and notification bar (all in black)...I like the way it looks better!

I too installed the update and all works fine for me. I tried my apps, looked at my pics on the sdcard, sent and received text, mms & email. Contacts, favorites and call log was all in tact. I like the black based menus. So far so good.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I get the 3G icon too. It took a few minutes to get it after the update but it did appear and stays.

How do I root after the update? I didn't root it before but, wanted to. Please I need idiot directions...lol. I have never done anything like this to a phone before but,I do know I don't want a brick. If I do brick it is there a way to undo it?

I got the upgrade this morning. Ever since, my phone has been acting insane.

The latest and worst problem is that when I answer an incoming call, the call immediately disconnects and I am taking to the music player that is playing whichever ringtone the incoming call played. Very strange.

Edit: Also my touch screen works about 1/2 the time now.

I got the gingerbread update yesterday. Phone kept cycling LG to black. Had to take my battery out to turn off. Put the battery back in and... phone kept cycling. Sprint store gave me a new phone. I had to put all my info and such back on. Sprint is suggesting I decline the update.

ZYMOS: Just to let you know, Sprint had to give me a new phone after the update. 2 representatives suggest I ignore the update and it would stop prompting me after a few hours.

Anyone else having problems charging now that it goes to G-Bread?
I cant get a good charge at all, and my battery is killing me :(

No bueno

Thanks- unfortunately I'm on Credo. I'm still trying to talk them in to a replacement.
I spent a solid 1/2 hr. with "Tier 2" tech support this AM, and all they ended up doing is told me to expect a call in the next day or 2 from someone even further up the tech support ladder.

My son's phone got it today, and he just backed out of it and afaik it didn't pester him after that.

I am so annoyed with my LG Optimus S. For so many reason, of course. Most issues are livable, but this is too much. After this system update on Saturday or Sunday, my phone no longer does predictive text with dictionary words. It will suggest words that are within my phone (other txts/phonebook names, etc. However, no matter how much I change the settings, it's gone and I'm left frustrated as ever trying to text!

How do I fix this?! I don't even remember giving the update the "OK" it just did it when I started charging the phone.

There's an android app called User Dictionary Manager. Some site said that might help. They lied. It doesn't do anything more than the current keyboard does now. Still no predictive text.

Also, phone WILL NOT CHARGE with car charger or USB chord now, only wall charger. WHY!?!

Oh, and after 5 hrs, my battery is drained. That's with NO RUNNING APPS. I understand this phone is garbage. I just need it to work a little bit longer!

I don't have all day to Google the issue, and I'm not that tech saavy. So. I beg of you, someone make texting easy again and tell me how to fix this nonsense!

THANKS!!!!!!!!!:)

Well I replied above how great things were going and overall the phone is working as normal but I did notice my battery was draining beyond the norm. Read about these issues on other sites and what was recommended was a factory reset which right now not sure I would like to undertake. Some other people say it works itself out after a few days and gets better. Others say to drain the battery fully and then charge it again with phone powered off. I have juice defender ultimate installed and someone said to uninstall and then reinstall which I did but still noticing the drain. Just wonder who else is having the battery issues?

As for the keyboard..before the update I actually installed an app simply called "Gingerbread Keyboard" which I heard was better than the one that comes with the update. It stayed the same after the update and it is a great keyboard and I highly recommend using it. Try installing it and see if it solves any keyboard issues.

I updated mine this morning o think its pretty cool actually. But i was wondering will they ever introduce the 3.0 version of android to the lg optimus s?

Mine actually IS charging over USB- very slowly, the battery icon doesn't indicate anything, and it says "discharging" under Battery Status, but the battery level actually increased 1% in a half hour.

I too installed the update and all works fine for me. I tried my apps, looked at my pics on the sdcard, sent and received text, mms & email. Contacts, favorites and call log was all in tact. I like the black based menus. So far so good.

Adding more info to my original post. My car charger quit working weeks ago so I can't comment on not charging in the car. Mine charges fine with the wall charger and also USB to my pc. My pc did recognize and installed new drivers automatically when I connected with USB. The only issue (non issue really) I had was when my wife tried to play Chuzzle. A pop up said "you have to be logged in". I never got that before. Couldn't figure it out for awhile and then I clicked on my Amazon app and it asked me to log in and then the Chuzzle game worked fine after that. It was a free Amazon download to begin with. I think the update logged me out of Amazon?

Can’t remember dreading an upgrade, being relieved every morning to see it hasn’t happened yet. Is there an Uninstall Update button like I use on Google Maps?

Phone was updated at 3:30 this morning in Iowa.A few apps are acting buggy. Will reinstall them. This stupid onscreen keyboard is lagging. Good thing I dont text much. Oh horrors! !

I use smart keyboard pro, much better than stock, also...the only way it has been charging is through the wall charger, and if I use the car charger ppl are right it goes maybe 1% every hour...

I am not sure what to do either, really do not want to go to Sprint, but might have to.
