Android 4.3 Update Starting Today

Google has said they will start rolling out the 4.3 update for the Nexus 10 today. The factory image is already on their site.

I saw someone say the fix for the reboot issue is not in this update. Apparently Google is still using the old driver.

I hope they are wrong.

Speaking about rebooting, it kind of sucks that the Nexus 10 doesn't have a Reboot option when I long-press the Power button, which means I need to root my device to install an app do it.

Anyone know if existing root methods will still work? I remember when 4.2.2 came out people were having all kinds of issues with ADB.

Not sure yet. You can try OTA Rootkeeper and see if it works.

Just a heads up. If you use apex launcher it doesnt work with 4.3 yet. MX Player doesnt seem to either. I also cant get drivers to install for viper4android. Not sure yet if thats a 4.3 issue.

Its hard to say when you might get it OTA. I downloaded it and installed it. If you do it that way you'll wipe your internal data.

I'm sure app and driver devs are working on updating as we speak. Apex has been updated and is working now. People are also saying the reboot issue has been fixed. It was a rare problem for me so I can't say for sure.

You can manually update without losing data.

It involves adb sideload from the stock recovery

I just had to reinstall about 70 apps. Wasn't that big a deal to me. I was bored anyway.
