android lollipop dot lock issue

just downloaded lollipop. i cant believe i dont see/read about many having this issue.

i have a dot lock screen on my phone. when i turn it on, i have to swipe the 'lock' icon, and THEN enter my dot lock pattern? what is the point of this?

in Android 4, when i turn on my phone, the dots appear and i just enter my pattern.

is there anyway to change the settings so when i turn my phone on the dots are already there, and i can enter my pattern without having to swipe the 'lock' icon first?

Hi there and welcome to the forums!

The reason this has changed is to allow for the lock screen notitifications feature which has been added in android 5.0. To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to easily switch back to the dots already being there.
