Help android market

I am having trouble getting into the market. When market widget is tapped google is asking me to set up a google account which I have had one for awhile. when I enter my google account info, then it tells me it cannot establish a connection. I assume you have to have a gmail account to get into the market? anyone having this same problem?

I am not having any issues. You do need a gmail account I believe. You may want to log onto your google account on a computer and make sure your google checkout account is set up and working correctly. Go into user account settings and checkout will be listed there.

I am having the exact same problem and can't seem to fix it .. if you figure out how please let me know!

After making sure your google checkout account is correct, try going into the market using wifi and not 3G. If it works then it is a VM issue and you may need to call and have them reset your account to ensure your data connection is working correctly.
