Any estimate for JB on Verizon?

Any guesses as to when Verizon will release Jelly Bean for our phones? I remember seeing something several weeks ago that rolling updates were coming I thought? Maybe I misread?

this is frustrating... literally a month after i got my Gnex from VZW, the price on google play dropped to 350... wish i had known... would have waited

I didn't mind waiting 5 months for the small update 4.0.4 to be pushed to the verizon gnex, but after jelly bean came out, I immediately rooted, unlocked my bootloader and flashed jelly bean.

That said, your not missing too too much. There have been some issues with jelly bean for the verizon gnex. The two major issues I'm getting are irregularly long boot times, and the gps only works sporadically now. Hopefully these are the things verizon are working on before they push the update.

A small part of me is debating going back to ICS rather than wading through a sea of ROMS and/or mods to find one that addresses both of these issues for me.

I finally got sick of waiting on Verizon and rooted my GNex and flashed Jelly Bean. I'm done waiting on VZW for updates.

First of all, I believe the wait for 4.0.4 from GSM to CDMA was under 2 months.

Second, developers always have solid ROMs out quickly. Finding one just takes research.

Lastly, Verizon's developing and testing takes a while. When you buy a VZW phone this should be expected. It has always been true and will remain true.

Rooting is the best option right now. If you want a stable stock version, give jelly belly a shot, best stock I've found, most of the major bugs are already fixed

Working as intended. This will happen on any phone running Jelly Bean. It's running an integrity check on the file system before it boots into the OS. It's no different than running chkdsk on Windows. It scans everything (media, data, system, and everything on your internal SD) and if it finds any corrupt files it will attempt to repair them.

Now that you know this, you may wish to find out what the integrity check is trying to fix on your phone. My startup time is less than 2 minutes (sometimes 40 seconds). So if you're having long boot times, you need to figure out the cause.

I have to think the recent Apple rulings will have taken quite a bit of wind out of the sails of official development channels. With uncertainty over the ability to sell the phone, and who knows what kind of injunction or other requirements may come, I would expect Verizon to end-of-life this phone very quickly. If not already.

Root it. You were promised ongoing updates and the freshest Google OS. If that's what you want, go get it.

Root it. Don't worry about the warranty. You can unroot it just as easily. Or smash it and pay the deductible for a new one.

Root it. Don't worry about bricking it or getting buggy software. It is fixable, and the roms are incredibly mature because they are based on Google's open source development, the exact glorious thing we were promised would make Android great.

On the bright side, unless you were planning on leaving Verizon you couldn't use the Google one anyways.
