Any hope for homebodies?

Phases

NO LONGER ADMIN
I get this game is meant to get people off the couch. Other than incense, is there much hope for people who mostly just want to play at home? I have to venture out for supplies, sadly..

I kind of feel the same way. I really want to play this game but I don't want to look like a huge dork in public. I'm curious if there is like a "How to play Pokemon Go for people with social anxiety" guide.

Yeah, you won't be able to do a lot of stuff without leaving. I would probably fall under the "social anxiety" definition, but I've managed to play quite a bit. It helps to have people who will play with you. I tend to avoid the pokestops and gyms with crowds. I've been using my bike for a lot of it. You can get in and out quickly.

I don't have much around me within walking distance and I don't really go anywhere often, so I'm in the same boat lol. I've been able to catch quite a few pokemon and level up at home, but that's about the extent of it. I hope they add more elements that you can enjoy anywhere at some point.

Depends on where you live. My friend lives in Clemson, SC, and happens to sit between two pokestops. So he doesn't ever have to leave his dorm.

There have been no pokemon found at my house. I have had my kids running around my yard for 2 days trying to find them and without incense I get no activity at all!

I would highly recommend the teeny titans game if you like to stay home

Nia's vision is games that get you out and exploring new places. You'll have some spawn near home, but you gotta get out and active ;)

Actually there is hope for you. There is an app called Lucky Patch and another called Fake GPS. The combination of these two apps can give you the ability to "travel" wherever you want with out leaving home. There is some work to do with this, if you desire and you still have an issue with "walking" but it can be done.

I hope there aren't a lot of people out there doing this. If you don't want to walk around you don't have to play. Don't be a cheater.

Pssh if I could pop to and from a pokestop thats JUST to far to walk and JUST to close to be silly to drive to, I'd be happy. There's jack in my neighborhood.

But, I think they are banning people for it anyway.

I was able to get the map to place me and populate stops and gyms with a fake gps app, but when I tried to spin the stop for balls it said 'please try again later'.

Very tricky to even get it that far I went through 3 different apps.

I don't know if I'd use it regularly and be a full time cheater anyway, mostly just experimenting with bugs and trickery. I'm not even sure how much longer this will keep me entertained lol.

Be aware they'll ban for that. The same company has been banning people for spoofing in ingress for years now.

Honestly don't worry about looking like a dork. You can go to the downtown of any major or even moderately sized city and find people playing Pokemon Go at just about any time of day. Pokemon Go is an excellent icebreaker for those with social anxiety like myself.

Play when ur out and about? To/from worl/school?

I play only when i go somewhere. Granted that doesnt leave much time to actually.play.but. at the same time its kinda irritating trying to.play pokemon.go while also being productive

I'm sure it has been discussed here, but if you create an ingress account (pick blue!) and then go to the Intel map www.ingress.com/intel you can see what areas have good portal/pokestop density. There is a good chance there is a place you like to hang out at that has a few. In San Diego ingress players love things brewed and good food. Good restaurants, bars (and breweries) and coffee shops usually have a few portal/pokestops so you might find a cool place to hang out. Maybe even meet some people. I made some really good friends when I played ingress and while I don't play that anymore, we are all still great friends.
