AppstoSD2 for Hero

slaguru

Newbie
See plenty of info on uses of APPSTOSD with Hero Roms on the G1 and alike, but has anyone go this working on a native rooted Hero?. Does it work ?

Been playing arround with it for te past day, and running into a few glitches... Still trying to figure this one out, I know there is a user who managed it, just waiting for his input... Will hit you back once I got it working!

Angelo.

yea same here, from what I have understood, we dont have busybox running on our rom, so the comands that are needed to copy one or two files over dont work, and so the appstosd2 application doesnt start correctly... hope this helps get things started...

Any update for us Hero fans?

When I run AppsToSd I can only move the slider to split the partitioning (But have no idea where to slide it to--help?)

But more importantly the next screen which says "Done!" doesn't respond to the "Reboot Now" button.

If you guys make any progress here please post!

Thats exactly what happens with my phone, so clearly appstosd has to be re-written or have some code changed to work on our phones?? Im also guessing its missing some files that are usually found on the modded roms...

Hi I am a total noob but think atsavlis is onto our problem...

I found this site while searching for a way to install busybox, but I've had no dice:

Does that help or am I barking up the wrong tree? Devs?

Any news on getting appstosd working on the Hero?

What about with a modded rom...or are those only available for the G1/dream hardware? I don't even know if there ARE modded roms for the hero, because...isn't the point of modded roms for the G1/dream to make it like the hero!? Or is it more for tethering/other non-carrier-supported options that might benefit the hero device itself?

I started to poke around at this modded roms site with unbearably long stickies!:

Custom ROMS (NEW) - Android Community Forums

but it seems that these modded roms are intended for the G1/dream device exclusively. Is that true?

If not, seems we could simply flash a custom rom that supports appstosd, and voila...?
