Help Auto punctuation?

Will_T

Newbie
I don't find anything in this forum so I must be missing it on my phone. But my old Blackberry always inserted a period when I double spaced at the end of a sentence. My Charge does not do this and I can not find a setting in the keyboard settings to turn it on. Can anyone point me to it?

Thanks!

Which keyboard are you using? The stock keyboard, go to Settings>Language&Keyboard>Samsung keypad>XT9 Advanced settings, turn next word prediction on and auto-full stop. I just tested it and it worked for me two spaces equaled period... Hope that helps you out.

You can also turn it on and off with the gear symbol within your keyboard, if you want to control it on the fly...

Thank you. I did not try that option, had no idea that "auto full stop" had anything to do with it.

I just knew I was missing it. Thanks again.

Now on to finding the best replacement for Berry Buzz which I loved on my old BB.

I have a Galaxy S Infuse G4, and i have turned on Auto Full stop, but that still doesn't do the trick. I am brand new to Android (formerly iphone G3) and loved the double space to put in a period. I cannot get that to work, and I have not figured out Swype yet. Any suggestions for me?
