Beautiful widgets help

I'm new to android. I downloaded the beautiful widgets for my optimus v. I've set up my location and preferences and read instructions on how to install it on my home page. It says to pick a blank spot on the home screen and then choose widgets. That doesn't work. I moved the app to the home page but still can't figure out how to "turn it on" so that it shows a clock and weather.

Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure you are selecting the Widget and not the app itself.

What kind of phone do you have? Some are slightly different to place widgets.

I'm not quite sure how to find the widget itself. I'm using an LG optimus v

Press on a blank spot on your homescreen for a long time, about 2 seconds, then a menu popup will show up. Alternatively, on the homescreen, press the menu button>then press "add">choose widgets.
