woot woot! needin that stock rom! just had to go buy a new venture today after getting stuck in bootloop on the last one with no CWM backup (i know, i know...). i successfully flashed the CWM recovery after the fact, but with no roms to load, i dont think it does me much good. so ive got a venture sittin on my desk just waitin for that stock rom!

cant promise you any rom but i can do some theming for your main framework/systemui. lets see what i can put together. i did contact creator of harmonia to see if its possible to get it on the venture. but her time is crunched so ill let leslie speak for herself on that front.

Get me a partition listing and I can probably pop put a similar set of base roms like I did for the Optimus Elite. It may work without the map, but you can't always be sure.

leslie, just wanted to say thanks for ur time! we appreciate the help very much. been desperate for a rom to flash to my other Venture that has been sitting next to me in a bootloop for almost a week now! im kind of a n00b to android, but always have a general understanding of what im doing. if there is any files or info i can help u with from my Venture, please ask! thanx again for ur time!

this isnt the full printout, but it looked like this might be what u were asking for. if u would like the rest of this partition printout, let me know! thanks!

Did you want me to find the size of those, or slutyman?

Would it be more convenient to do something like wc -c /dev/block/mtdblock0? (Edit: Doesn't work. Nevermind.)

FYI, here's some mount info...
/dev/block/mtdblock1 /system
/dev/block/mtdblock5 /data
/dev/block/mtdblock3 /cache

So 1, 3, and 5 are not the one you're looking for.

And block 0 is recovery and I believe 7 I the kernel.

i cant promise anything.. because i dont have access to one anymore. i can attempt to throw some stuff together. but id need a willing tester after i got it all together.. after looking through system/app this things all aosp and it should be simple to port over some stuff

well, ive got an xtra Venture laying around thats stuck in bootloop. it has cwm flashed on it, but i have no access to adb. so, if u can make a rom flashable from cwm, im ur tester! let me know if u need any more info!

I only half expect this to actually work, but someone can give it a try. With luck this will go much smoother than it did with the Elite. Be sure to check if root works.

u r amazing! lol! my phone is no longer in bootloop. OS appears to be functional. i havent activated the phone yet, but wifi and bluetooth appear to be working. the phone IS successfully rooted! installation went thru with no glitches via cwm recovery. this is phenomenal! many, many, many thanks!!!

also you guys check as much of the rom as you can for issues..


things like activate,mobile data toggle,google sign in,any odd crashes be sure to mention,wifi connections,dial out a number,get someone to call you,send and receive a few messages,check gallery,video,etc..it will help get a final build up faster without any errors and will make leslies job easier as she wont have to come back and fix something later.

will do, curtis! been foolin around a bunch on it. so far, so good! i DID have a full Titanium Backup recovery to go back to tho, so i dont know if that puts me at an advantage, being that i had all the stock apps+data to go back to from before i got stuck in bootloop. still testing tho! ill post any bugs or other findings as they come up. a little nervous to try to activate it tho... if i swap phones and it doesnt work, i gotta go without a working phone for a day! anyway, thank u too, curtis, for being willing to come help find the info and people that we needed to get our rom! mucho, mucho thanko's! ;-)

A good thing would be to fully wipe Urgent phone after installing, then set it up without restoring anything to test the rom for bugs or anything Luke that!

I wish shabby would post his cm sources because I need to go through and fix some issues with the recovery such as not being able to select tar backups, images out of place, improper handling of /sd-ext, etc. If anyone knows him please ask if he could post his source to github or something!

oh i want to see harmonia up and running on this little phone. i enjoy theming and would rather theme the entire rom than just the systemui/framework so this is perfect. and i dont think the activation will give you any issues at all. usually works just fine. but on a side note,you should be able to call out,etc and have data right upon boot. if not,that doesnt mean much..just call vm and get them to manually walk you through the activation without using the activate app..that thing tanks out a lot on a number of vm phones. its a simple process for them to reactivate you.

Wow, that was pretty simple.

5 downloads and no complaints, so that is a good sign. Since it boots and root is working, then at least the heaving lifting portion is done and we can move on.

At this point the biggest question is if this will duplicate the Mac address.

ive already downloaded this build just to port over my optimus elite ics theme elements. 90% done. all i have to do now is upload a test build of this actual rom or wait until aeneas is here.
