Help boot/text problems

First time poster, but long time lurker. I was the first in line at my Sprint store on Friday and I love my Evo. My last phone was a hero, on cellular south actually. Today I noticed some weird problems. At one point every time I touched the messages icon, it brought up the dialer. I calibrated the keyboard with no luck so I decided to reboot the phone. When I tried to turn it back on, nothing happened until I pulled the battery. The messages icon worked fine, but still, every time I turn it off, I have to pull the battery to get it to turn back on. Anyone else having these problems?
